Anyone know anything about this board?

I picked up this board, its supposed to be here today. I've never wakeboarded before but I wanted a board I can kinda evolve with. Does anyone have any input on this board?

mr beat, never rode a gator man, sorry. Good news is when you're new, you've got a long time before gear would ever hold you back. You've got years ahead of you before you would want new gear anyway Wink

Agreed. My first time was on a directional board with no fins and only one sandal binding. Couldn't do much, but it was something to learn on. I have never ridden a Gator either, but you'll appreciate the continuous rocker while you're learning. It is more forgiving in the absence of proper technique, so you won't be getting nearly as discouraged as you would on a more advanced board, but just make sure you take the time to understand and practice good technique, so you don't develop bad habits that will hurt you when you get a better one. Faceplants hurt, and it's hard to break and relearn bad habits.

It will suit your purposes fine for never have wakeboarded. It has a pretty big rocker at 2.8" but it is continuous so that will be fine for you. The rocker is the amount the board curves and continuous means that it is the same curve throughout the board and 3-stage is a board that curves then goes to a flat spot then curves again. A continuous rocker is more predictable and better for riders that are learning but won't pop you as high as a 3-stage. This doesn't mean people stop riding continuous rockers when they get better and only 3-stage boards because many pros ride continuous because it gives them a more consistent pop. A 141 is a larger board for a beginner but again will not hold you back until you start learning tricks. That is if you are to small for the board. I base it more on weight then height and also skill level. If you are 170 pounds and up a 141 is fine for you and if you are 5'8 and up a 141 is fine for you. Then if you are more advanced the bigger board can be ridden by any weight/height because they pop more and land softer. I hope this information helps. I know when I started riding I couldn't for the life of me figure out what a continuous vs 3stage rocker was. Had no idea on board length and so on. I'm 6'3" 170lbs., and I ride a 142. You won't know the difference in length just yet, but if you have the chance to try a friend's board or something like that, you quickly will. I think it is a matter of personal preference as long as you are well planed out on it. I rode a 138 identical to my board that was worlds of different. I sometimes ride it to try new tricks, but personally I prefer the longer board, which most will tell you is too big for me, because it adds to my style. I'm more fluent in my movements with the larger board, and ride noticeably smoother with it verses the smaller board.
