So I went out Tuesday with a buddy of mine. I had been on the water for maybe 15 min after I got loosened up and feeling pretty good. Went to just jump the wake I had hot some air and landed it then I don't know what went wrong. I guess I caught an edge when I was going over the other wake. Well I wipped out on my front side and hit the water really hard and pulled my boots half way off. Hit the side of my stomach and I couldn't hardly move. I got close to the boat and grabbed the boat for a couple of min I didn't think I would be able to get myself on the boat. I finally worked up courage to try to get in. When I did I just layed there for probably 5 min My side was killing me but I went ahead and gave him a pull for about 30 min and I was ready to go. Of course I was ready to go as soon as I wiped out. I had him drive home and I was still in pain after the hour and half drive home. O figured I would be fine the next day but I was wrong still hurts like hell. I think I must have bruised my side or something. Ther isn't any color to it. But hopefully I'll be ready this weekend for somemore boarding. My buddy just got a new board and hoping to be able to try it out.

My guess is you bruised or cracked a rib Either hurts like a B and you won't see much bruising, if any. If it's cracked, you can usually feel it under the skin, and one spot in particular will be very sore to the touch. Best advice, get an ace bandage and wrap it. The pressure will be uncomfortable at first, but will reduce the pain greatly. I've had over 25 broken bones and at least 4 were ribs. They heal fast though, best of luck to you.

PS. I would have made your friend drive you. When I screwed up my knee, I couldn't use my clutch in the car and got out of driving my friends around for a few weeks even after it healed. lol

Is it in your side, ribs or ab area?

It's in my ab area. Right below where the vest doesn't cover. To the left of belly button. It's day 3 and the pain diminishing each day a little bit. But nothing like when it happened. I am going back to the lake sat and sun to do some more boarding even if I'm not 100. I figure by then it will be pretty heeled.

Sounds like you did the same thing I've done a couple times. You probably pulled a lower ab or groin muscle. Just takes some time to heal up.
