Noshot,
That wake is super washy. Try trimming the motor up a little bit to clean it up. That should help out a good bit. |

Noshot, the wake is fine for learning. What is amazing is how you avoided death on that toeside wake jump. You seriously almost took one of the worst falls you can take in wakeboarding the first day you were jumping the wake. I know it feels very very uncomfortable edging right now but to get more air you just need to take a wider edge out, maybe 5-10 more feet and approach the wake with more speed. Make sure to keep your knees slightly bent, both equally, and the handle in at your lead (left) hip. _________________ Liquid Force

speed is not the important part, proper edging is. you concentrating too much on turning your board by yourself instead of utilizing line tension to do it for you. Keep the rope tight and close to you at all times and edge more into the wake, a non stretch wakeboard rope will help too |

| It appears to me that you could benefit greatly from practicng more basic skills than jumping at this point in your riding. You look like you are doing pretty good for a beginner but it looks like you need to work on board control and getting more comfortable on your edges. As long as you are having fun and not hurting yourself keep trying to push yourself, it's the only way to improve. |

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I am going to put the fins on next time I go out. It feels like I am on ice when I am not leaning the edge in. Towards the end of the day, I was really getting a feel for the board. I could control it a lot better than when I first started. I stopped after a wipe out that almost bent my knee sideways lol...
How high do you think I could get off of that wake with practice?
Hopefully, I have potential lol |

IMO,
The fins will help your edge tremendously while you're just getting used to it. I still ride with 1" fins on top of my molded ones. I can break them loose real easily if that's what you're concerned with. If that chop felt like you were on ice, you'll be surprised once you ride on some glass. Don't get discouraged though. Just have fun and listen to these guys, they know what they're talking about. _________________

I used to ride finless always. Got used to it and I loved it. It is a bit harder to carve in though. Then I rode on a Hyperlite Roam...wow that was slippery. I didn't like the roam though.
I like how you went switch after landing that jump. Did you do that on purpose? It was sloppy as hell but with some practice it'll look nice. Already building his style! Sweet. |

I would agree, however, that without the fins, you have to edge correctly or you learn how hard water can be. I don't know what kind of board you're riding, but with no detachable fins and no molded fins, I don't see how you could pull off a hard cut. Am I wrong? _________________
