Can't seem to get the Tantrum dialed. I've watched all kinds of videos and have read a bunch from other Tantrum threads. I'm riding at 22mph with a 65' rope. To me it looks like I need to just work on throwing it straight back... can't seem to make myself do it though.

I'm no expert on pulling one of these. In fact, I've never even tried. However, just comparing your video to the ones I've seen (and even the last few on this clip), I think you're quite a bit short on the amount of pop you need to give yourself time to rotate it.
I understand that the edge is a bit different than it would be for other tricks, but you REALLY come off your edge and decelerate before you hit the wake. I would think you'd need a bit more energy heading into the wake. _________________

I honestly think it has to do with internet penetration...
Your cut looks okay, you might be letting off just a bit early, but your real problem looks just like what you were thinking. In your video your head is looking down..at your board. Your back is arched like it's supposed to be, but you need to lead the rotation with your head, which means looking up and over. This will also allow you to spot the landing early. You should have the handle in your lead hand, it almost looks like you reach to grab it with your backhand while in the air.
Great thanks for the tips. Won't be able to ride again until next week it looks like but i'll keep what you guys said in mind. I also just noticed from watching the video that I don't let go with my back hand until I've come off the wake. Do you think if I let go earlier with my back hand that it would help me take the rotation straight back?
I have not attempted a tantrum yet because I have a bad left shoulder which is my lead side when riding normal. I avoid all tricks that require me to hold the rope with just my left hand, even grabs, because my shoulder will dislocate with any kind of lateral pull from the boat. From those of you who are either attempting or landing this trick, what kind of line tension do you have when throwing it? If I could throw it with a slack line, I could grab the handle back on the landing, otherwise, I'm forced to learn this switch. _________________

This is a big commitment trick...charge hard and hit it like you "know" your going to make it...it is hard in the beginning to go at it with enough speed and commit to making the "backflip" aka tantrum all the way around. _________________ If the good lord didn't think you could handle it, he wouldn't have put you in that bad of a position...
It looks to me like you could fix this very easily... When your cutting in right at the bottom of the wake before you start to squeare up, let go of the handle with your back hand and let it fall to your side. This should keep you on axis and allow you to square up better. remember to look STRAIGHT back when your flipping too and not over one of your shoulders. let us know how the advice works for you.
I know this is an old post but like tcaseymcclure, said your not looking back which makes you either not rotate all the way or land off kilter, which is what i was doing. I corrected it by thinking to myself during my approach where im looking. So I made it a point to look at the wake at the approach just before i hit the wake i looked down at my board the split second i climb the wake, right at the crest, i look at the shore id be squared up to. Then as i pop i look straight up at the sky then spot the opposing shore then my landing. It might sound confusing but doing that got me squared up and the muscle memory in check. By making your head/eyes look at these specific points it makes you rotate. Hope this helps some.
