I started the scene thread a week or so ago, and now after talking with another rider on the lake we ride on who we don't ride with often, have decided we're wanting to get the riders to come together, and build a scene etc.

Any ideas for the best way to do this? Should we plan some kind of float party etc? We just want people to get together so we can share the water better etc.

If the lake has a cove that you don't normally ride in you can designate it the "party cove" or the "anchor here cove". Then you guys can all chill together in the same cove and handle riding however you like. That's the only thing close that i've seen before.

I was thinking about starting a local wake club or something. I know some of the guys on here belong to college clubs so I thought one for just anybody, college or not, would be kind of cool.

Are you trying to get together people that already go to the lake?

Chad H, you ride on Smith Lake right? Concidering I've been an hour either direction of the dam at 30mph and not seen 1/4 of the lake... bringing people together to ride in one spot may be a little difficult. If your talking about a smaller lake or river then you'd probably have a shot.

Okie Boarder,
Yeah, basically just trying to get folks together.

boardordie,
Nope, we're on wheeler. The part of wheeler we are on has about 4 good coves within 30 minutes boat ride of one another. The cove we normally ride in has a good 10 or so people riding on the weekends. So we figure it'd be cool to get folks together.

Try making up some flyers to get contacts. Go around the lake and flag boarders down to give them out or see if there is a bulletin board area at the boat launches. You could set up a regular meet up at a time and place to gather and then try going together piling a bunch of people on a small amount of boats or something. That might work.

I actually met people online for our "wake scene".

ON youtube, I noticed a couple of boarders posted some vids from Lake Zoar, I emailed them and they are part of the raft up we have this Saturday.

As well, met Matt from iBoats.com who lives near me, and another guy from CLubSeaRay.com

I think the idea of waving people down is a good one. I have thought the same and was going to do that this year, but the weather has sucked donkey caulk and there hasnt been too many out.

Make up some flyers and hand them out on the lake I thought was a great idea and I may steal that myself.

You have to come up with a name though...
