More of a technique question but..

I had the chance to get someone to video tape a very short set which was very wavy at the time. I noticed on almost every pop (all 5 of them) that my lead leg seemed to sky rocket up in comparison to my trailing leg.

I assume this means I need to stomp harder on my trailing leg when I'm popping. Is this accurate?

keep equal pressure on both legs when your standing tall off the wake... if you cant fix it just grab crail (grab nose with your back hand) one of the best grabs in my opinion

Any time I have had that problem it was from not putting enough weight on the lead leg. Once I started putting equal weight on each leg it was no longer a problem.

pet575, that makes sense I was trying to really stomp my back foot to make up for it but that was making matters worse because to stomp harder on the back foot you have to put more weight on it. I'll make a concious effort to even out next time I'm out. Last run I had the same crap the entire run except the last two jumps. I got booted about 4-5 feet in the air and it felt sooo clean. God i love that feeling.

5 Feet is like, 1.5 metres...

Behind a cable you easily get 10 feet...

Choose what you find more cooler Laughing

But boating is nicer (read: girls, friends)

a cable is not towing you at 25 mph and sending you that high like a boat is though

i had/have the same problem, if you were previously a skier it seems to be natural.

i was told i was too rear foot heavy, and that i wasnt stiffing my front leg as much as i was the rear.

and once you get it down, you can easily get more than five feet. i jump over my friend who is almost six foot and i have probably 4 feet to spare. thats what the people in the boat say.

But i wish i had a cable around here to ride. Less work it would seem. you just go with your board and pay to ride. i would assume you have to wait in line though.
