Well, I have seen alot of charts that are based off of height/weight, but I would like a sure-fired answer from people who have first hand experience with it. I'm 6'0 and weigh 190 and I was looking at the Ronix One 138, but I have been reading about people smaller than me riding 140's and greater and feeling really good with it. My sister is also looking to start wakeboarding, and with both of us being new to it, we don't really know where to start (board / bindings). She's 5'5 and 135, and was looking at the Ronix Coy. What size should we be looking for her and for me as well.

ya, that's about the size of board that I thought she needed, either a 132-133 is what we were looking at.

xjsnxillusion, all of the board manufacturers provide a suggested weight range for their various board sizes. Height is mostly irrelevant. Stay within the suggested size/weight boards and you should be fine. There are so many variables in addition to board length, picking a length is the easy part. Ronix recommends the 142 One for 160 lbs and up and the 146 One for 170 lbs and up. Generally speaking, a bigger board is easier to ride than a smaller board.

the guy at my local pro shop put me on a 138. I was riding a cheap 140 obrian until the boots shredded so i switched and he put me in a LF package with the 138. I'm 5'11" and weigh 190/185. i dont see a big difference in the length but the control is another story. But again that is just the difference in a cheap board and a good one. According to daves post boards are just like everything else we buy. Different manufactures suggest different sizes or different sizes fit the same depending on the manf. I have not had any pb with the LF trip 138 and we are close to the same size.

ya we are close to the same size, and I think i found what I'm gonna go with. I couldn't find a package deal for it yet, but I'm looking at Ronix one 139-142 (anywhere in there should be ok) and the Ronix cells. I've heard good things about the bindings. I'm going to a local shop on Friday this week in the next city over to see any input i can get from them. Still kinda on edge about getting closed toe or open toe - when i get to the shop and get to try some stuff on I'll know a little bit better.

I have seen a ronix vault w/ divide bindings for 359 and that seemed okay with the divide being my second choice for boots. They are only open toe right? And would a 3-stage rocker be bad for a beginner rather than the continuous rocker?
