| Hey guys, I've been wakeboarding for 3 years now and i have a few questions about when you pop. My boat is definitely not ideal for wake, nor is my board for jumping, but i think i'm missing something. Often when I try to jump a wake, I have trouble landing it because I end up sideways, or when I land i lose complete control because my board obviously doesn't land in the direction it should be (since i approach wakes sideways). I can't really find any help videos, what could I be doing wrong? How long did it take you guys to get comfortable with big jumps (i can do smaller jumps of a foot or two of air perfectly fine though) |

| Hmmm, try to just keep a proggressive edge all the way through the wake, you can also try to bring your knees up a little bit once you get in the air to keep more balance. |

| just like kriggs said make sure you are holding your edge THROUGH the wake and not just until you get to it.. you have to edge through it and when you land try cutting out on your heelside edge so it will force you to try to stay on the edge |

I'll probably get crucified for saying this.. but sometimes with smaller wakes cutting all the way through it can basically destroy the wake (from my experience when i was younger).
Now don't get me wrong. I still cut as progressive as I could on that sucker (17 foot bayliner) and got as much air as I could. But sometimes I felt like if I didn't go quite so hard and didn't land so far in the flats I could get a bit higher.
Take it with a grain of salt, but sometimes you have to play nice with the smaller wakes and not cut them to shreds. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |
