|
|
| Hi, had a couple of sessions on my local cable park recently.. which was good, got on well with no probs(apart from my arms feeling like they were coming out of the sockets the next day from those full on starts lol) Question is, can any one direct me to some reading about cable park riding or give me some pointers of how to acheive POP when on the cable? thanks |

Yes i can, i am a cablerider and just started inverts. You can get pop by 3 ways.
1) Use a rocker or slider to get pop
2) Ollie pop, by edging out, and then ollie.
3) A progressive edge between 2 corners, edge out till you feel that there is alot of load, and then releases it with a so called ''flickaway''
For all 3 of types you can find pretty good tutorials. I reccomend first learn to ollie since its the most simple way to get more pop.

| nice one for those, some really good tutorials on there and very helpful, i was practicing the flicaway in my living room last night, my girlfriend was watching me and laughing thinking i was insane. I am on the cable next friday again, so i am going to give it a go. I have been doing ollies when being towed on the boat no problem, so the raley is the next step i think.. looks ace, can't wait now i have an idea about the technique!! |

Good luck, and remember that visualizing what you want to do helps, since you have no time to react on the moment itself! _________________

What is your local cable? Air tricks are all about line tension, everyone has a different way to explain the "flick" thats something you kind of have to figure out on your own. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

yeah the explanation of the flick is a little random, aswell as the takeof, people do it all quite differently.
I see the flick as a hard edge where i extend my legs and turn mij board from my leftside of my body quikly to the right side while keeping your edge.
Here some footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaJ3LbOwFWA
Its filmed 300fps so you can really see it well, start on 0:30, the flickaway
My localcablepark is in Dankern, West Germany. _________________
