Really? I always knew gas weighed less, but I never thought it was that much less. |

I guess that's why gas floats on water! |

Get a block of wood (its got to be the type that floats on water) about 2 inches on each side.
Half fill a beaker with water, half with petrol (gas). Wait until they seperate (you will be able to see it) then gently lower the wood into the beaker.
If you have the right type of wood, it should float on top of the water, but beneath the gas, right in the middle. Looks kinda cool. _________________ Terminate high thinking |

Ya, but you'd put on more weight drinking water than if you drank gas... |

this is interesting but all we need to really have is for them to have bigger gas tanks and more ballast both will help a wake gow and thats what counts.. _________________ "Thanks for Play'n"

Weird though learned that one cup of gasoline if converted to food calories would equal like 130,000 calories. Intresting little tidbit... _________________ If Women didn't exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning. -Aristotle Onassis- |

Another thing to note is that food calories are actually reported as kilo-calories, so 1kcal=1 food CALORIE=1000 calories. They usually capitolize it to show this difference. It only takes about 100 kcal for someone to run a mile, one coke has 140 kcal. One pound of fat has 3500 kcal, so you have to run 35 miles to lose one pound of fat. One gallon of gas has 31,000 kcal, so one glass has 1937.5 kcal or 1937500 calories.
