i have the 06 liquid force alphas and they currently are hurting my feet, ive tried changing my stance and everything but i think its time for a new pair of bindings. ive been out of the scene after the 07 season and im new to closed toe bindings. they are very appealing to me but i dont know what the benefit is on having them. if someone could tell me why a person would buy closed to vs open i would appreciate it much.

I love my 06 Murray's.. they fit "like a glove".. snug, but not too tight.
I put on my brother's 08' LF Shane bindings and I felt naked. It just didn't feel right. _________________ just livin' man, just livin' |

I like closed toe because they hug your whole foot much better and you feel more locked in on the board with no foot movement. They hug your foot tight and you can get a good feel on the board.
When I use open toed I feel like I'm losing a little bit of that feel because my toes and parts of my feet are able to lift up off the board or whatever.
The downside of closed toe is that when you catch an edge you don't come out |

I have CWB hinge open toe and closed toe bindings. The open toe binding are on a board I use for guests as the fit a wider variety of foot sizes and to me that is their only positive.
The closed toe boots are specifically sized for me, fit like a glove and minimal foot movement. I like a tight feel with better transfer of energy. Plus I get no spray on my toes, that used to bug me. |

I thought they were mainly for protection on rails. I've stayed away from them as they seem foreign to me. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

I have only ridden in slingshot bindings, the new PB floyd's and last years Driver. I loved the PB Floyd and as soon as I can find them in my size for a reasonable price I will order some. The drivers were nice as well but not nearly as comfy as the PB Floyd. They were both significantly more comfortable to me than open toe bindings. I also feel like I have more board control in the closed toe bindings. _________________ Mind over matter, if you don't mind it doesn't matter... |

No real advantage, just personal preference. I ride with both depends if im using my cable or boat setup and it really doesnt make a noticeable difference. Some bindings they only make in closed toe which is the only reason I bought a pair. Try em both on and buy whatever one feels right for you, because everybody has different feet. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

| Can you still pop out of closed toe bindings when you can at edge or are you pretty much glued to the board? |

Yeah you can come out of them mate...
Ive recently bought some Ronix One boots, if your worried about the fact you might not come out of them on a bad wipe out, just dont tighten them quite as much.. |
