Yesterday was my first full session of the year. I was riding behind my X-2 with the ballast empty. I have problems with not edging all the way through the wake and my back rolls weren't clicking at all. It was also my first day attempting HS 360's. But please throw out any suggestions or comments that could help me out.

I'm also stuck as far as "what comes next" with trick progression.

I currently have:
All 4 180's
HS backroll

Working on:
HS 360's (missing the handle pass every time)
Tantrums

uga1020, when it comes to missing the handle all you need to do is pull straight in off the wake to your back hip. Once there, release with the front hand and push the handle around to the small of your back. This pull to your rear hip will let tension out of the rope allowing you to keep the handle close a lot easier.

With trick progression, I would say to work on grabbed 180's, toeside frontside 360's, and toeside backrolls. Get the tantrum first before doing toe backrolls so you understand the rotation of keeping your shoulders parallel with the boats direction. Another thing, fill up the port ballast tank a little bit to keep your wake from washing out or make the people in the boat move to even out the wake.

Welcome to the site, BTW. Many people are willing to help with any trick progression so if you need help, don't hesitate Smile .

I was landing them consistently last year, but I was like 2/6 on saturday.
With the tantrums I seem to be rotating a little and landing facing the shore, almost switch.. I think it is caused from not switching edges hard enough or not committing, but any suggestions to correct that?

hey man, i agree with dirtydave your backrlls are just a bit under rotated but close. pop a bit harder and stay commited and your stomp em, and for your hs 3's all i can see is your landing really far forward.

good run though.

For me, 3's are just getting the pop and then only focus on the handle pass. If you can get your hand on the handle, the rest will come together. You look like you are spinning right off of the wake and over-rotating it.

That I am. I'm bad about riding in my "comfort zone" too much. I hate the feeling of everything toeside so usually end up neglecting it.

uga1020, toeside is my favorite Very Happy . It's awesome once you get around to it. Surprisingly I feel a little more comfortable going in toeside than heelside.
