Finally pulled the trigger on some new gear and can't wait to use it on my trip to Zion National park next week. Shopping list included:
Canon 5d Mark ii
Canon 24-70 F/2.8L lense
Canon 580 EX2 speedlite
Couple filters and a HD video card to boot
Can't wait to start playing, I'll post up some results when I get back from Zion. |

Nice man! I was all set to buy an mk2 this year, but the reality of buying a HOUSE in the bay area is far more tempting(and important) 
Can I suggest a set of pocket wizards for the flash, off camera is so much fun and challenging
have fun in Zion, I hope to get there sooner then later

| Good call Russian, a house is definitely a better idea. Having one of those (that isn't underwater even) I needed to find another way to do my part in stimulating the economy. Now if only I knew what a pocket wizard was. |

Corporate, Yeah, were stoked to be able to buy a house and not a condo!
A pocket wizard is a device that allows you to shoot off camera flash, you need two, one for the camera and one for the flash. They are pricey, but in the grand scheme of photography toys they're a drop in the bucket
