I have recently purchase a new boat (Super Air Nautique 230) and I am having trouble surfing behind the boat. Getting up and going behind the boat is not a problem. Where I run into trouble is finding the sweet spot where I can drop the rope. There is a spot right behind the platform that where I can feel the wave pushing me, but I have to keep on applying pressure to my back foot to get away from the platform. Everyone else behind the boat is able to find the spot and surf with no rope.
I guess I am asking if there is anything I can do to set the boat up differently. I highly doubt that the wave is not big enough. With the port ballast and belly ballast full and 3-4 guys in the corner of the boat we get a giant wave. Should I try speeding the boat up?
I am about 6-2 250 also. |

Wakesurfing is very sensitive to foot placement. Pay attention to where you are putting your feet, then make adjustments. Assuming you are riding frontside (toes towards the wake) you may need to move your feet towards the wave on the board, if that makes any sense. Its a balance between pressing into the wave, staying out of the back of the boat and not losing the wave.
How fast are you going now? Speeding up the boat will usually lengthen the wave, making it not as tall and steep. _________________ WakeSurf and Wakesurfing News |
