I tried this trick a few trips ago and got it. I am just not pleased with my pop. I sometimes get great pop and really gets me around, but most times I end up shorting it, and butt check it. Not to mention that it looks really ugly. Other than the first one, the rest were taken the first day I got it. So I know Im not holding the handle in on them. I think it is how I am hitting the wake. I think that maybe when I am shorting it, that I am keeping too hard of an edge through the wake, and missing my pop. Yesterday, I got to try it a time or two, and seemed as when I got more over my board at the wake, I was able to get a little more height and rotation. Check it out, and give me some input, thanks...

I feel like I am having to work way to hard to make this trick happen, so I am pretty sure I am not getting the correct pop. The few times that I have, it has really booted me

curious to see what you get for advice because the last time I saw my regular front flips they looked like this as well. For some reason my switch fronts don't go all "frantrum" on me.

I would say maybe try focusing on really taking your pop up first. It looks like you are absorbing the wake a lot instead of doing the little ollie thing leading into a front flip. Also looks like you're throwing the trick early. I think if you waited to initiate the flip off the top instead of leaning in at the base of the wake it would help a lot.

hey mate... to me it looks like your under rotating.. i think your getting enough pop<always could get more> but just get your body into a front cartwheel motion... and justkick your legs around mate...but they look pretty good i reckon.

Hey there dude. That video from Mike, I think, is a bit confusing. I say that because in the video, he says to back off your edge a bit. I just recently got my front flip back to where it feels okay, and I think about doing it super progressive. I start quite slow, then build it, really thinking about loading the heelside/tail corner of the board and stomping my back heel into the wake.

If you do it that way, you won't have to throw the move as hard as you are there in the video, the board will come over by itself. So try a slower approach with a lot of edge at the wake, and think about popping it up, not out.

toothpick, Thanks man, that makes sense... Here is one I tried from the other day, only had a chance to really try one. My body position is still all crazy, but i did do better holding my edge through the wake. looking at this one, it appears that I am throwing my weight forward at the wake, like pretty much before leaving the wake.. I am sure that is killing alot of my pop.

Watch your handle placement too. Looks like you're throwing your hands around pretty hard instead of rotating around them.

Heyo! Sorry I haven't been on here in a few weeks. Yeah, that edge was better. Now there are 2 things you could work on to clean that up more.

First, when you are riding up the wake, you should be pitching your body back over your rear foot. What I mean by this is as you stand tall, rock your shoulders back and away from the nose of the board. That's going to put more weight on the tail of your board, making the wake really send you into that front flipping motion. You won't have to do nearly as much work to initiate the flip.

Second, you are doing something I used to do on mine. Your upper body is trying to finish the flip too early. If you watch that video, check out your upper body in comparison to your lower body. Your eyes are already looking for the water when your board hasn't even begun to go inverted yet. That's what is causing the twisting weirdness in the flip.

It's a scary thing to try to pop straight up and just tuck your head, waiting for the flip to happen, but that's how you'll need to do it to really clean it up. One thing you can do to get yourself to do that is ride at a slower speed, come in slower, and just practice popping tall off your back foot, then tucking your head down toward the nose of your board, not looking for the water. Plan on crashing when you do this, that's the best way to kick the habit, if you try to land, you'll keep looking for that water way too early. You'll be surprised at how far around you get. It will feel like you get a slow start, then you'll get flung around into the flip.

Once you have done that, you should be more confident in popping, then waiting for the flip to happen. That's when the flip gets really fun! Try it out, I'll try to check back here more often. Good luck!
