I feel very confident throwing my railey. I ride at 75ft and each time I throw it I land way outside the wake 6-7ft. I feel very comfortable in the air....enough to try a hoochie or s bend. The problem is when I come down I hit the water like a ton of bricks. I come down with alot of speed and when I hit the water it's like a train wreck...then I lose the rope no matter how tight of grip I have...any tips on how to make the landing a little easier?

Ive noticed that I have that problem if I dont edge hard enough when cutting in fro the trick and especially have hat problem if I look down in the middle of the trick.....try to look at the tower in the middle of the trick to help keep your head up......keeping your head up is one of the most important parts of this trick......and if you edge harder into it you will land on a better edge and ride away rather than just land on the board real hard......so in short....edge harder and make sure you keep your head up throughout the entire trick....I hope this helps Smile

Thanks for the advice....I actually landed the raley last year....hell it's been a year since I read your reply. Problem is I still hit really hard......I watch videos of people throwing nice smooth raleys and mine are really inverted.....looks like a raley handstand.......looks sick but when I pull in...well my lower body has crazy momentum....Any tips?

GoBigWaxBigger, with raleys, the bigger you go the smoother the landing. I have never actually heard your complaint with raleys. Normally they are one of the smoother landing tricks because of the speed and momentum you land with. You also might be coming into the wake with your knees to bent like you would approach a hoochie, but for a raley it would not allow you to get the right extension and would lead to a harder landing. Straiten out your legs more is really the only thing I can think of without a video.

I will try standing taller for the raley but the entire purpose I started throwing the raley is to turn it into a hoochie some day. If I'm already loading for a hoochie should I just keep going with it? To me a HUGE hoochie is the sickest trick to throw....I noticed your pic so do you have any tips for the hoochie?
