I remember seeing a mount for a video cam that mounted to the tower and the rope ran through it so it would track your rider. I can't find it on the 'net now though. Anyone else seen this? _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M, 06 GLI for haulin'.

Overtons and SkiLimited both carry them. I like the skilimited one better because it has shockmounts.
I'm thinking of getting one this year.
I've heard that they really don't do very good if you're trying to make a "pro-style" video and are riding on anything but pure glass, but if you're just trying to see what you're doing when you're out behind the boat, they supposedly work very well.

Yeah, don't try and make anything super special with the cam mount. The video will come out ok of course, but you have to remember that unless you dish out huge sums of cash for video stuff it is not professional. I would also go with the SkiLimited one. _________________ Pulling fat people out of the water is fun...I get to use my engine. |

Cool! Luckily I'm a "huge sums of cash video" guy, i.e, that's how I pay for the boat so maybe I'll do both for fun! _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M, 06 GLI for haulin'.

Yeah well if you have it, go for it for sure. Good looking videos made on the lake kick ass. Post some when you get some good stuff. _________________ Pulling fat people out of the water is fun...I get to use my engine. |

ive seen the video that camera mounts make. they are good, and it does depend on the quality of camera, but it also depends on the water quality. we were on good water but we found that we had to tighten the bolt on the hinge to make the camera harder to move because if there was slack in the rope it would jerk the camera.
the only thing i dont like about tower camera mounts is that you can't zoom. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

I have the one with the coils on it to absorb the shock, it works OK but what other people said above is true. Don't expect to make pro style movies with it.
I use it purely for educational purposes only, the jerk of pulling the handle on spins and inverts makes it shake no matter what and yes if you are not on butta the movie it will bounce a bit. _________________ PEACE

John Jared, What's the 'OH my God!' video
I think the tracker looks good and is pretty functional. John has an LCD screen that mounts to the windshield (well, not anymore thanks to me ), it works really well with making sure the rider is in the camera's view. The whole set up is slick as hell! _________________ www.MidwestMilitia.net |
