qualifying for world cup 2010 continues tonight. the US play TnT in Nashville tonight at 7:45 eastern time. the game will be on espn2. i know a lot of us on this board aren't into soccer, but if you're just watching tv, you should check it out.

i'm getting ready to leave for nashville. i'll try to get some pics of the game to post. my brother and i went to the US-Mexico game in columbus, and it was unreal.

STPHNSN23, check your pms. I answered yours.

I'll be watching the back half of the game, have an Offroad meeting tonight.

And for the record, love soccer, and still play.

holy crap. the game was epic. the drive home, not so much. got to my place at 5:30 this morning. i'll post some pics once my buddy puts them up.

the game itself was a good result. i don't know about beasley playing left back against real teams, and mastroeni isn't the answer in the midfield. donovan looked like stuff again. 3 points is 3 points, and i'm happy to report that mexico got beat by honduras 3-1. costa rica beat el salvador 1-0.

STPHNSN23, I'm not a big Landon Donovan fan or anything, I think he's somewhat overrated... but he did have 3 assists. I don't know if you can say he looked like sh*t with 3 assists.

Nevertheless... it was a good result, I hope that we do well once we get to the WC... it seems like we play well in every other world cup since '94.

about donovan: it seemed like he gave possession away all night and couldn't connect on his passes. i never would have thought he would have the kind of match ratings that i've seen today. all of the articles i've read have had nothing but praise for him. maybe it was my perspective and level of crunkness, but i wasn't impressed at all with his performance. maybe if i re-watched the game on tv, i would see what i apparently missed live.

either way, donovan's play is vital to the US going anywhere in 2010, so i hope it was as good as i've read.

is anyone planning on going to the honduras match in chicago on june 6? i'll be there, hopefully with a full crew again.
