My dad got me a new captain seat and mount for my supra. 86 Comp. My question is how do I go about mounting the mount to the boat itself? Lag bolts? Butterflys?

ryan351w, you want to check the wood condition of the floor. That's what will determine lag from screw. If the previous floor mount is still good and tight, I would use the screws. Check to see if the screws are fine or coarse thread. If they are fine thread and stripped, go to coarse first. If they are coarse thread and loose, go to the next size screw up. Going with a fine thread first.

If that doesn't work, look at moving the floor mounts slightly forward to have fresh wood to work with, then use new screws.

Lag bolts are ugly, and will finish off any hole if they every don't grab or pull out. And will make a mess of the floor.
