my boat is an 87 sea sprite i/o, and the gelcoat is getting pretty faded around the outside. the whole boat is white except a blue line about 5" thick that goes around the whole boat. i was wanting to repaint that. how much of a job is that? _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |

You want to repaint the blue line? Have you ever sprayed automotive paint (no not the rattle kind).
You'll need a compressor that has enough oomph to power your spray gun, masking supplies, tack rags, etc....if you've got all the equipment you just scuff it, tape it off, clean it, tack it and spray it.
If you don't have paint equipment (or even if you do), a better option for you would be to vinyl over the stripe all the way around. In fact, it would probably cost less for a vinyl shop to cut your vinyl than just the supplies for paint. |
