Finally did it, searched and searched and searched, glad it's finally over. 2001 Wakesetter, perfect pass, MLS, bimini, racks, etc...doesn't have a wedge, not sure if I really care about that. Can't wait to get her shipped up here!

| I think I saw this boat on ebay. Seems like the guy selling it was pretty meticulous about it and took good care of it. From what I remember he said it also had some kind of a salt water flush system, but the boat has never been in salt water. seemed like a good deal! congrats!

jjaszkow, Absolutely, any time!
Wakebrad, Probably as far away from me a geographically possible, naples Florida
brycejay, Yep that's the one, talked to the guy seems pretty genuine. I was nervous about a big purchase on ebay but I'm able to verify his identity and his home address and phone number match up.

Thanks all, can't freaking wait.

Congrats man, I was looking at that same boat. I hope she is great to you. Throw up some pics of the first set behind her and let us know how she rides.

nice!!
looks like dirtysparks, is going to be stylin this year. 19k sounds like a pretty good price for sure. A friend had a boat very similar and we never used the wedge. your not missing a thing without it.

Get a wedge with the money you save. You can get a pretty good wakeboarding wake without having to fill the tanks.

Ummm... why the he!! would you waste money on a wedge if your not going to fill the ballast?? Obviously just the ballast or just the wedge by themself create a good wakes but until you use them together it doesn't make sense to have both!
dirtysparks, Great looking boat! Congrats!

Great looking boat. I can't believe that you only paid $19k for it.

Don't you have friends that like to Tube or ski? The 23LSV I was on made a pretty good wake for basic stuff by just dropping the wedge, then at a flick of the wege made a pretty friendly wake for other activities. With only a short wait. Rather than having to empty and fill the tanks. One of the things I though was a big advantage with the Malibu.
Oh, and of course the two combined made a great wake for big air.

Yeah... they go last and wait for us to empty the fat sacs.

I guess the 5 minutes it takes to empty the sacs has never been a big deal when putting the last riders stuff away and getting the next rider in the water.

dirtysparks, you don't need a wedge and you are going to be sooo stoked on the wake. Two 550s in the back a 550 in the walkway and a 550 in the nose and you have one of the best wakes ever made. Blows the New VLX hull out of the water. Which is why Chad Sharpe's "Wakesetter" is actually a V-Ride with wakesetter decals, so he can ride the old hull. Most people didn't know that hahaha

ilubronix, Thanks for that information, now I don't have to ask how to weight it! I've been over to the ballast forum on themalibucrew.com and there's a LOT to sift through.
Didn't know that about Chad Sharpe...seems that way with current X star also, pros prefer 205 hull.

That's interesting, but now that I think about it, it seems like that should be more common. The older hulls tend to be more 'rider friendly' vs. 'family friendly' with the new hulls if you know what I mean.

I copied liquidmx's setup, you will see him post on TMC and WW.
I have
- 4-500 in the bow if not a bit more
- 500 ish in middle tank
- two 750 sacks in the rear compartments filled as much as possible
I think liquidmx has stashed 400 lbs in the middle of his boat.
I will say with 3-4 people the wake is pretty good and with 6-8 people the wake is very good.
