| I am not sure that the polks will get quite as loud given the same amount of power since they don't have the horn in them though. |

| I have 2 mb quarts with 95 watts rms running to them and I can 'hear' them behind the boat, but are you talking wet sounds clear? Does your lake have traffic on it? |

I just got done installing a new stereo system in my boat, and I ended up with all Polk speakers, and right now I'm completely impressed with their sound as is quite a few people that have listened to my boat.
I presently have 5 pairs of Polks in my boat, plus a Polk subwoofer. An amp to run the boat speakers, and a seperate amp running the subwoofer.
I also have a two dual pair of polished cans, w/ Polk speakers in them on my tower, with a seperate amp running them. It's still to cold in my area to put my boat on the water, but sitting on the trailer, playing my music at about half volume I can hear my tower speakers easily at the lenth of my driveway, which is about 75-80 feet.
Now a few on here questioned whether I will really hear them that good at that distance on water, over the motor noise, and water noise?? That's a good question to which I have no answer, which is making me think, about adding wet sound tower speakers to my boat. I've heard nothing but good things about them, and also youtube has a few examples of their speakers playing, and they are quite impressive.
The main thing HANDS DOWN!!, is to definetely buy a wet sounds ws-420 equalizer for your system. This unit alone will help any stereo system, rech it's complete peak. |

| After being behind boats with systems loud enough to hear the music, it is kind of nice, but honestly I tend to eventually not really notice the music. I get so focused that I end up ignoring it/managing to not hear it. Not to mention the sound of the water, motor noise, wind noise, etc... Definitely worth it to have tower speakers for wake surfing though, but you don't need wet sounds to hear it behind the boat while surfing. |

Hope you are seriously looking at the KickerKMT6 they are the best reviewed tower speakers out there that don't cost a grand. If you don't need a CD deck you can just use an Equalizer to run the ipod. But you will need something to power the in-boat speakers. This is what I am planning as well. _________________ 1987 Supra SunSport |

Well i finally got the wetsounds installed today. I had a problem with my amp so I ended up ordering an Alpine 4.150 amp. Lets just say the pro 80s are so loud I dont know why anybody thinks they need more then one pair.
It is so loud and clear its rediculous. Sounded like a concert at our shop today...I cant imagine what some of the peoples boats sound like with other setups bigger then just a pair of pro 80s.
Ill post pics as soon as it gets nicer out.
thanks for everybodys help. _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M.
