|
|
Hey guys,
I recently found a boat and I'm going through and getting all the appropriate gear i need for the upcoming season. I realized that my boards probably aren't the best all around boards for guests. the bindings aren't 'one size fits all' and they are a bit on the shorter side. What would you guys suggest for a relatively inexpensive 'guests' board. Should i get a 141-142? should i stick with a continuous or 3 stage rocker? etc...
any suggestions would be great too.
thanks in advance.

just get a cheap package deal they are roughly $100 from bass pro, sports authority, or dicks one of those should be good for a guest board. my old board is my "guest" and it is hydroslide blackwidow... _________________ Lanexa VA |

For a guest board I would do a 138-140 size board with a 'one' size fits most binding. If you have that size board with a 9-12 size binding you will cover most riders on your boat. A 145 is a large board and really would be big on a majority of the riders you take out unless they are all really big guys.
I would stick with a Pro shop type board. You can get cheap closeout packages from pro shops also from $299 and down with bindings for current season board packages and even less for closeout packages if they are available.

thanks guys for your suggestions. im leaning towards a pro shop type board just because i dont really like buying stuff that isn't going to last... even if i wont be riding it.
another question i have though; would a flex board be an ok beginner board? something like the hyperlite roam? I ask because this serves two purposes... one, i'd have a spare board for guests. two, i'm curious to ride a flex board. I just don't want to get that board and have the guests have a horrible time with it and just have to get yet another board.
thanks,

Well i am a beginner and i also use flexboard since they give you a nice way to learn the 180's and butterslides ect. Its great for beginners. _________________

Id look at boardersmall. I just picked up a Ronix Vault and Divide bindings for under $299 for my boat board..... I think the bindings supposedly range from 8-11.5 which should cover the majority of my crew.
I really just didnt want anybody packing out my Cells |

thanks guys for your advice and info. i ended up getting a used hyperlite vero with binding for just over 100 bucks delivered. i researched it on here and a lot of people have used them for their first boards with good results. i think it'll be fine for the guests |

My old gear is their new gear lol...but we also have a newbie board...its the hydroslide black widow but we swapped out those velcro bindings with 03 zeus bindings lol....its held up to noobs and most people pop right up out of it. I think we got it for 150, the bindings were off another board but the ones it came with lasted at least a season, the velcro just stretches and it has to be tightened... _________________ How much work would a network work if a network could network? |
