Working out, running, eating healthy(just a thought haha), not sitting in front of the tv or computer all day long...anything to keep yourself in shape. Work your legs out a lot, along with your upper body of course. There was a thread similar to this that I kinda started....it escaladed to workouts and stuff eventually. It's called "Slingshot" if you wanna take a look.

Three letters ROM. I thought it was an expensive gimmick when my dad bought one but after using it I'm sold. 4 minutes daily and it's all you need for cardio and weight training. It's the only time I've ever got runner's high in less than 10 minutes.

Yep, when my dad bought one I went to see and Shocked

It really works if you want to get in shape. You have to use it right but if you do when you get finished you will have runner's high every time. At least on the upper body part. The lower body part of it is harder than any other machine I've ever used. I thought it was going to be easy when I saw it for the first time. It really helped me get in shape for doing track days. I'm an instructor so I'm on the track a lot and thought I was in pretty good shape from riding 4-6 days a month on the track. I was wrong.

Rowing machine and free weights should be pretty damn good. Works for me at least Smile .

That ROM machine looks kinda useless if you ask me. Not to be negative or anything lol. Why pay a crapload for that when you could spend much much less at a gym or nothing at all by just going out and possibly free running(works like crazy) or running up steep hills then doing pushups, situps, etc. Or by an iron gym Laughing jk jk. dang that commercial gets really freakin annoying...

The ROM is similar to a step machine and rowing machine but different in a lot of ways. On the "rowing" side you not only pull back from being leaned almost all the way forward but when you get all the way back you push it forward. It increases the faster you "row" which makes it harder as you go. The "step" side is the same, the tension increases the faster you go. The inertia builds causing it to be harder to "step" the faster you go. What happens with both is you reach your potential and build off of it. The step is a full step. As high as you can step up.

Why use that instead of going to a gym? What can you do at a gym that will get you in shape in 4 minutes a day? The ROM uses every muscle in your body if you use it right. I personally wouldn't buy one but when I have free use of one I'm going to take advantage of it.

I second CROSSFIT. There was a similar thread a while ago...someone on here first mentioned Crossfit. I went to the website and was kinda confused because the exercises seem kinda wack. Now-it's my new favorite thing! I got hooked up here and have been attending classes, so I learned the basics...now I'm not intimidated about how strange the exercises seem. I will never go back to standard weightlifting again.

Yeah, I'm a chick-but I've been lifting since 1997-done it all. With Crossfit-you could go 365 days and never do the same workout again. It is perfect for the action sports athlete. Pure strength training, high reps, with cardio thrown in. Intensity is extremely high-I get that need to throw up feeling almost everytime I go. You are fighting to ignore and beat the burn with every exercise.

Check out the site...they even post daily workouts-so you have zero planning to do and most of this stuff you can do in your own home and can be improvised.

We'll see how it's helped in another 45 days when I can get back to Japan and hit the mountain every day for two weeks. Hopefully Crossfit and Cytomax will pull me through.
