I made some brackets, and installed my ws-420 right under my dash , on the right hand side, and it looks fine.

Now I'm just wondering what do any of you guys use to hang your microphone off of??

The microphone has a spring type clasp on the back of it, so I'm a little stumped on what to use.

Thanks

I mounted my WS-420 to the right of the steering wheel, under the dash like it's floating. I just draped the mic over the steering column and it hangs off the other side. The clip doesn't hold tight enough to really clip it onto something.

Thanks for your response jonyb, but I really don't want to do that unless I have to.

I'm thinking if I could find a "catch" like I have for my bimini top strap to hook on to, would work fine, IF I can find one that is a little wider than the "catch" that is on my boat.

I hope I'm explaining myself right, as my bimini top has two straps that you pull down in front of the winsheild, and they have these two small "loop catches" to hook onto.

If I could find a "catch" like I'm trying to describe above, but only a little wider, and still stainless steel or plastic, I would think you could hook the microphone on that.

Tim from wetsounds, you have any suggestions??

Thanks

How about something like mounted on the dash?

We decided to go with the phone style clip vs. the cb style slide in unit. As most boats have the mesh storage pockets or some place to clip the mic. And we knew that most people would rather do that than screw a mount into their dash.

If you boat does not have a place to clip the mic. You can try to use a cb style on and replace the spring clip. http://www.westmarine.com/1/1/26274-microphone-clip-stainless-from-west-marine.html

or http://www.wearecb.com/store/cb-microphone-accessories-c-37_25_176.html

Something there might work.

Also, remember that you can extended the mic cable if you want to. Since it is a quick disconnect. So if you have a place that it will clip on. You can extended the cable to there. Some also extend the cable and use a dash mount plug onto the dash or under it so the mic can be plugged in there.

Some of our wakeboard schools have the mics extended to the rear of the boat so they can use it when teaching.

Thanks a lot guys now I have a bunch of ideas to knock around in this pea brain of mine Rolling Eyes

I never really thought about extending the microphone, that might make it easier to use also.

Well at least I do think I can figure it out from here.

SO AGAIN!!!.......................THANKS!!
