I am just getting around to drawing some graphics on my homemade wakeskate. I don't need to worry about wrecking the graphics cause I don't ride any sliders, Man I don't even know another person that rides.

I am from Ontario, so we only have a few months a year to ride. We do have wakestock, thats cool, but on my home lake I have only talk to one other person that rides, and I don't see them around very often. I have yet to have a chance to ride with them.
It is not so bad, I prefer to wakeskate anyways, I just have to push myself.

Well it goes like this, I used to wakeboard, but over a year ago I herniated a disk in my back during a nasty wipeout, and had to have surgery on it cause I was having so much pain.
Hence the Back Breaker graphic.
This is why I have taken up wakeskating, it is more finesse no inverts and less aggressive. I just love to get out there and carve it up.

I started painting my board, and have decided to scrap the whole image above and I am just going to do flames on either end, looks cooler, or should I say hotter.

Ok, here is what I finally did, just some flames, I might add a bit more, but this way even if I get a chance to ride some sliders the graphics will be fairly safe from taking any damage.

yea, i built it last winter, just followed some guides off the internet, stole the shape and length from a Hyperlite skate, I have only had a chance to ride it the end of last year, cause of my back surgery (see above post).
looking forward to getting back out there.

| looks pretty good, if you hit sliders, and do boardslides, the graphics would pretty much stay there, it wont really affect them, i dont think atleast

Only took a few days, most of the time was spent waiting for the glue to dry before taking the clamps off.
If anyone wants the outline shape I used for the board I have it as an illustrator file, size as. I just printed it out tiled in on 11x17 sheets and taped it all together to get a full size outline.
kyleSKATE02, I feel your pain, and this summer has been sucking big time, just got the boat in the water a few weeks ago and have yet to get out and ride.
Here is a pix from the end of last summer, before the flame graphics

Nice board EarlyGrace. Oh and I like the flames more than the original design.

SJK1454, who is going to see them?
Well just look at the pic above, if I had the flames on there last year when the shot was taken, everyone would have seen them.
Plus they are going to make me go faster. Burn up the water, maybe I sould have put them on the top of the baord that way I could see them while I am riding.
Or maybe when I do kick flips, I would see them that was for sure.

no problem, send me you e-mail address, it is an Illustrator file build size as so you will have to print it out tiled and tape it together, unless you have access to a larg format printer.
Cheers

I used some nylon camo fabric for the base on mine. I just laminated it on with some epoxy.

That looks pretty cool, the strips of grip tape give you enough stick?

Yeah, it's not skate deck grip tape. I went to a skate shop and they told me that none of the grip tape they had would hold up in the water. So my dad snagged a few sheets of this industrial stuff. He got it from some guys who were putting it down for "non-slip" areas on a concrete floor. It's some pretty coarse stuff. It works well, but I really worry about it around the boat. It's murder on the gelcoat.

Here's a little something I just whipped up on Photoshop. I know it's not a wakeskate but it could apply.
