Hi,
My wife and I are thinking of trying out wakeboarding, and are unshere if we will like it. Is there a board good for Male and female. Everyware I go there say we each need are own. I was hoping there is something in the middle. So if we do like it we can get are own boards then have one for friends that come out and they can use it. Any help would be nice. We are going to a boat show up hear in canada this weekend and are hoping to get one there

what are your weights and heights? youll need to buy a board that fits the larger rider. too big is ok (and good in some cases) but too small is always bad.
i have guys and girls sharing the same board all the time.
and dont buy your board at a boat show, usually there priced outragous there. at least do some research and find the price of some common boards and then youll at least know a decent deal if you see one. good luck! (dont forget the weight and height) _________________

It is sometimes hard to get a board that will work with a man and woman rider unless they are close in weight. If your a big 250lb guy and have a 100lb lady then she will be riding a board way larger than she needs. It will work but she will probably not be having as good of a time as you.
At the boat show you can find deals on closeout stuff. So look for the 08 gear and you can get some deals on it at the show. Most shops will be willing to part with all 08 gear because they all have orders for 09 coming in or already in and they want to move the old stuff. Closing it out just like we do on Boardstop.com(Wakeboarder.coms Pro shop) every season.
Just make sure you know what YOU want and what YOU need. Do not let someone talk you into a 145 board because they want to move it and you really need a 138 size board. _________________ Wakeskating

If I were you I would look in the 136-138 range for the board. The best bet would be to get an open toe binding so that you both can use it. I would say get a demo board somewhere or a closeout 08. If you like watersports you will love wakeboarding. A tower is not necessary but it makes a big difference. you can always just get a pylon/pole whatever they call them for the boat. Getting up behind a boat without a tower is a lot harder. I tried my first two times on a I/O ski boat without a tower and never got up. I'm sure there are some other people on here that can give you more advice. You can always go to places like Bass Pro shops etc and get a board and binding set up for cheap to try it out. _________________ Sportbike Track Time Southern Division Instructor |

My husbnd and I have been sharing a board for the past year. We are about 30 lbs apart and only 3" in height! We have the LF Witness with the Transit bindings. It worked just fine for us! This year we are moving to our own boards because we need to be able to tune our board to what we each want! But that is after we have been progressing for the past year...Our first board was from our local sporting goods store (Academy). We got the board and bindings for $150.00. It was perfect for us to see if we liked wakeboarding...It wasn't long before we wanted a better board. You can also see about renting a board...we have another sporting goods store that rents out demo boards for $25.00 a day or $50.00 for the weekend! Something else for you and your wife to check into!
Until recently we had an I/O with no tower. There is a difference but you don't "have" to have a tower to wakeboard. There are people on here that learned to ride behind a fishing boat! Where there's a will, there's a way! _________________ Life isn't about waiting for the "storm" to pass...it's about learning to dance in the "rain"!

I agree with the 136-138 size package for both of you. You will probably like a 138 size board the best. There are a number of wakeboard packages that are in that size range. Check out the Liquid Force Trip in the 138 or Omega 139. From CWB check out the Faze 135, Pure 134 or 140. _________________ Wakeskating
