So I found this deal on boardersmall...it looks wayyyy too good to pass up. I imagine it's an 07 (or so I think), but I don't care about the year really since it's such an awesome deal. Should I go for it?

If you like the board then go for it. The only thing that changed between the 07 and 08 besides the graphics on the recoil is the ability to use other manufacturers bindings on them. Other than that it's the same board. As far as the bindings go order a size larger than your running shoe size. SS tends to run a little small. I just sent back 11's for 12's because mine were too small.

6' 170lbs during winter. During summer while working, working out, and riding all the time I can fluctuate from 160 to 170. Some may say string bean, but to those who say that I simply point them to my smokin hott girlfriend and say "Athanku"! lol

i wish i could hit the gym 5 days a week...but the one we have in town blows. I have a total gym and it does the job quite well Mr. Green Then I do a bunch of other stuff for my legs..I don't really feel like ending up like a good percentage of the riders on this forum do...blown out knees or torn muscles, etc...i couldn't even imagine not riding cuz of it

To be honest I love it. I think it's a personal opinion, I'm sure It's the perfect workout for upper body stuff for sure. Endless possibilities on it, you oughta steal it back Laughing And another thing about it is that you don't have to pay to use it...unlike the gym Mr. Green haha.

Well since this is turning into a workout thread...lol

I hit the gym 4 or 5 times a week. I always try and put in a half hour of cardio. Then I do push ups, pull ups, and dips. I do a certain amount every day. Then, the following week I up my amount by 1. For example: Every day I do 52 push ups, 35 dips, and 20 pull ups. The following week I will do 53, 36, and 21. Its different from hitting chest only once or twice a week and so on, and it really helps me stay lean upper body wise, but still be pretty cut. Then for legs I love doing squats on a half workout ball. Its a workout ball that is basically cut in half with a plastic platform on top. I do squats holding a 45 pound plate. This works but, quads, hamstrings, and engages the core. It works on all your stability muscles and really engages the full body. I also do some abs and do calfs (sp) quit a bit. I take the approach to just stay lean and have useable strength. Not just a gym rat that can bench a ton but not able to use it in real life situations. I also love doing rope climbing, but just havent invested in a rope for my backyard yet

Ha heres a little story. I operated a party rental business last summer. Inflatable bounce houses etc. For those who dont know, inflatables are dang heavy! We had one that weighed 900lbs. I got a friend of mine to come help me. He was a gym buff that was bench 300 and weighed 220. I weighed 160 at the time. He tried to help me unroll it, drag it into position, fold it, roll it, tip it on the dollie, then get it into the trailer. He was furious that I outlifted and out worked him in every aspect of doing it. And he had 60 pounds on me. Ha sorry for the long post

Zachcopp, that's exactly how I am. I'm not workin out to be the world's strongest man (even though that'd be pretty sick), I'm just workin out to stay fit, in shape for riding and jumps, and to impress the girlfriend Mr. Green hahaha. It's worked out pretty well so far!

zach im a fan of pull ups as well. you dont see many that do those.

agreed, i do more endurance style lifting than to look like brock lesner style lifting. lower weights and more reps is my regiment. with 25 minutes of cardio. i prefer eliptical.

how about those slingshots! i want to ride a recoil SO bad. Laughing

I figure if I can get up to 100 push ups, 60 dips, and 40 pull ups ill be in pretty good shape. I dont half a** them either. Gotta get a full range of motion on all the reps. Slingshots new stuff has me soooooo stoked! I cant wait to get on a reflex! I have heard the new recoil is a little faster than previous years, but I like a fast 3 stage board. Im also getting a new pair of D3s in the next couple weeks! Late christmas present!!

I like the new binding designs and colors. I actually do like the new Recoil better than in years past. I think the best looking board they have made is the 08 Response. Ive never been a huge fan of slingshot graphics. I thought SS 07 stuff was but ugly, 08 was better, but i think 09 is the best yet. Not that it is great, but better. I think Company's graphics look awesome, and im really interested to hear about product performance! Oh and SS has the best customer service of any company i have ever dealt with!

A winch would be AMAZING! We have portable sliders we put in ditches and pull behind a truck in college quit a bit. Its alot of fun. But a winch would open up a whole new realm! Yea I can understand the bags, pylon, and winch putting a damper on the finances. What kind of winch are you getting, or are you building your own?

My dad bought a ROM workout machine last year. I'm starting back using it next week. It saves me a gym membership which the ones around here suck anyway. All I have to do is drop by his house for 4 minutes a day and that thing got me in the best shape of my life.

I just bought a 08 Recoil with Floyd bindings. I can't wait to get it on the water. We will probably start going out in March but it's still cold here in Alabama at that time.

Well we were looking to get a grinch a while back but the price shot up for some reason. So now I'm pretty sure were hooked on the Pulldozer. It looks pretty sick. 8 hp engine, releasing spool, disc brake, hitch mount, all for 1750, which is pretty cheap compared to other winches. My friend and I are gonna take a week in the summer and go on a road trip doin nothing but finding spots to jump, gap, jib, whatever. haha I can't wait Mr. Green
