Bend your knees a lot on the landing, and......don't let go of the handle!

You might be flipping to early off the wake. Do you come around easy or are you having to flip really hard to make it? Make sure you flip at the top of the wake. Oh and cut hard enough to make it w2w it sucks when you think you have it and you land on the top of the wake and fall.

I would say you are not riding up the wake enough. In other words, throwing the move too ealry, not getting the necessary pop, and therefore when you land the water is more of a surprise then you being able to spot your landing and ride away. Also, don't look down too much, if you look down, you go down. Just a suggestion.

It has always helped me to land it and ride away. You should try that. If you ever have a trick that you always fall on, all you have to do is land and ride away. Good stuff.

Without sounding mean or ignorant, I have something to say. in Slay's case here, which I see alot. He knows what he is doing wrong and still asks for help. All you ever really have to do is just suck it up, lett all the pusssy out, and just do it. In your case, just say, "I'm gonna throw a tantrum and look straight over my back." and then follow through. I learned at an amazing rate all of a sudden just because of that. I had known how to do just about everything in wakeboarding down to the specifics, but was just afraid to do any of it. Then I just told myself, you know what to do, now just do it exactly how you know, and threw all of my inhibitions out the window and did them. I picked up 9 inverts in two months and learned to spin on and off axis uo to 5's, and a ts fs 7. It would only take two times to land a new trick. THe first time just to see what it was really like, and then the second time just to make myself do what i know how to do. It is really quite simple once you set your mind to it.

I had the same thing, I wouldn't really try things, and if I did, I'd know exactly what the problem was, and I'd take the same approach you all are. I'd say it's a mental thing and I just keep doing it. Then one day i just realized, all i have to do, is do it the right way. If you are throwing it too early, simply think, I AM WAITING. Then just trust it and go. Alot of it does have to do with trusting yourself. Just keep your word, and do it. Sometimes it helps to basically talk stuff to other people and tell them what you are going to do. That way they will hold you to it. For my first backroll, I promised my friends they could film it all winter, and I'd throw it first hit off the wake, first time out. When it came time to doing it, i didn't want to do it that way anymore, but had too. I got concussed. But I realized that all I did was leave the wake too early, and the next time out, I threw it first hit again, and landed it. Backroll in 2 try's, that easy if you just do it.

Snow Skate Wake, all in all, I don't mind your advice. A lot of our blocks are mental. But to land a toe side 720 with front side rotation on your second attempt goes way beyond that. To do so would make you by far the most naturally talented boarder I've ever heard from, especially if sticking that hard of a trick on that few attempts is typical for you!

Grady - I don't think you're getting pop as much as you're throwing it backwards. I'm doing the same thing on my tantrums. I cut in to the wake, stop, but instead of waiting for the pop and throwing it up I just kind of huck it backwards. I don't lay it out so it's nice and smooth, I just throw my head back and my board follows. For me I know it's just a mental thing 'cause I can't do backflips on a trampoline. There's something about going upside-down with my head leading the way and spotting my landing that freaks me out. So it sounds like you just gotta pop up and lay it out nice rather than pop out.
