Well since the water is still cold, i wanted to get a wet suit to do some wakeboard.I tried 5 different one and no one fitted right.I tried 2medium,2small and 1 xtra-small and they were all too big from the top.(the bottom fitted right on the small and was kinda a very tight in the x-s but the spot near my shoulder and my arms was to big and the girl at the shop said it wasnt good). So what should i do?Is there a brand that is smaller from the upper part. I tried 3 hyperlites(or ho if you prefer) and 2 bare.Did it happened to any of you? and if so what did you do? _________________ Life without wakeboarding isnt the real life. |

| I like Dryuits in cold water, but if you dont have the money go wetsuit. And try a large, and maybe a different brand. Name brands not always work out., and you can get them for a cheaper price. |

Just suck it up and jump in. A wet suit doesn't make as difference after your in for 10 minutes as you think it might. Sure, i only spent $50 on mine so i guess its worth it. I couldn't see paying much more though _________________ -And my eyes get red in the back of your head..this place will make you blind |

| I dunno about the quality of Hyperlite & Bare wetsuits, but I was under the impression that most people wore surf brand wetsuits (O'Neill, Billabong, Hotline, etc). You should hit up a local surf shop if you can & try on some suits there, surf manufacturers have been refining wetsuit design for decades so you're bound to find a good quality suit that fits you well for a decent price. |

It's possible to ride into the dock w/out damaging your boat or inuring yourself. I've seen it done several times. See if you can get a drysuit, some of the online stores in the states have them on sale now. _________________ This time, like all times, is a very good one if we but know what to do with it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson |

louis123, i had kind of that problem, mine was a little big by my shoulders as well, but not to bad, i didnt mind it, i grew into it a little bit, but hey, its better then nothing, right?
if you can ollie high enough, you would just land on the dock, and if there is something in the way, you might run into, but if there isnt, and ya can ollie high enough, you would just stop |

| i used to just pull up next to the dock and sit on it. Then one time i was going to fast and smoked a the pole and cracked the sh*t outta my board. that was the last time i did that. if you dont have any poles then try it its not hard just make sure your going REALLY slow when you sit down or else it hurts and you smash your board |

louis123, try to find a shop that carries Xcel wetsuits. They make their wetsuit out of a really stretchy material. You actually enter through the neck hole. This way you could get a suit that fits your upper body without to much tension on the lower body.
www.xcelwestsuits.com
IMO I'd stick to a surfing wetsuit company over hyperlite and bare. Could just be me... _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

dave it is very possible---just come in parallel to it and let go and glide up to it and right before you loose too much speed sit down and hope you don't get splinters |

Mavis-
When the boat is getting close to the dock it should start slowing down, therefore the rider starts slowing down as well. If you time it correctly, you can actually grab onto a cleat and stop. You probably think I'm smokin' something but i swear, when I ride in class at school, most of the guys do this. The teacher does this too when he is done waterskiing...he comes in and grabs the cleat and sits on the dock. _________________ This time, like all times, is a very good one if we but know what to do with it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Yes it's a 1 unit class at Cal State Northridge..... that's how i learned to wakeboard. We can wakeskate, wakeboard or waterski but they don't fill the ballast system because of liability issues. _________________ This time, like all times, is a very good one if we but know what to do with it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Well attendance isn't a big part of it, as long as you show up on time or not within the last hour. The instructor grades us on improvement (either learning how to ride or doing new tricks), participation, written test and a boating safety certificate. So it's a chance for you to go out for 2 hours and get one two to rides plus we're on the lower lake of Castaic which is closed to public boating. _________________ This time, like all times, is a very good one if we but know what to do with it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Uh, the laughing face shoulda tipped you off, but that dude was kidding about finding his wetsuits at Costco.
If you were at a surf shop then I hafta imagine that they had other brands than Hyperlite or Bare. Like I said, find another brand that fits you. Most surf wetsuits don't simply go S-M-L, they have a dozen sizes. Anywhere from extra-small to large-tall & everything in between. Suits that fit properly are out there, you just gotta go look for 'em. |
