| dont eat it. Just be sure to know in your head what exactly you are going to do before you hit the rail/obstacle. That, and keep a good center of balance, have the knees bent, and be relaxed. |

sounds like you were too wary of falling forward. There often isn't anything to catch your toe edge, so don't worry about leaning back a whole lot. I would say you should probably stay centered front/back _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

yeah stay right over your board. the rails are slicker than the water, so don't lean back. thats what puts you on your ass. _________________

c-boy, it's not that you need the momentum that you're going to stop.
Based on the length of the slider you have to cut into it to stay in the middle of it. The rope is going to pull you toward the middle. So if you go in a straight line you will fall off the side of the slider pretty quickly. If you cut into it the lateral momentum will balance out with the pull from the rope so you can slide the whole thing.
Keep your center of balance low and don't lean back at all. You want to be standing on the board like you're standing on the dock. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

The key is confidence, if you go into the slider scared, you will fall. You need to approach it confidently with your knees bent, only thinking that you are going to slide this thing no problem. There really isn't any trick to hitting a slider, especially the picnic table which is what you will hit first. Edge into the slider, keep your knees bent, and stay over your board. Like Luke said, do not lean back or you will fall on your butt, which really doesn't hurt but its embarrassing. _________________ Liquid Force
