I'm looking at a 2000 Tige 21V Limited with 350 hours. It sells for $29,900. It's in pretty good condition and has been taken care of. The Mastercraft MariStar is 1998 but in immaculate condition. It sells for $28K and comes with a tower. It only has 170 hours on it. Looks brand new!! The dealer said he would put in 5 ballast bladders adding up to 1800 lbs. He said the final price would be $29K. I test rode the Tige and the boat was great without any weight. On the Tige there is more room for possibly 1500 lb.s of fat sacs in compartments. The wake on the Tige would be monstrous once all the weight is added. My only concern is that the MariStar once filled with ballast will create a nice wake but what happens if I want to add more weight for a bigger wake? The room for fat sacs is very limited and you have pretty much maxed out your weight capacity for space in the boat. What are your opinions and thoughts? Please let me know... thanks

Check NADA on the tige-sounds a little high...unless it comes with all the extras (cover, trailor, etc.). I have the 2000 21v rider's addition...I've heard that if you add weight to it, it will wash out, haven't tried it yet. I am also thinking of replacing my tower-it moves and rattles a lot. It works, just sounds like a POS. Are you planning on taking the boat on rough water a lot? If so, the tige seems to handle better on rough water.

I'd change the tower on the Tige.

Tough decision, both are very nice boats, work them against each other to see what the best deal is.

You can weight a 21V and make an awesome wake. You just have to be careful and not over weight them. I have a 21V and my buddy has a maristar. The 21V wake is better if you weight it correctly.

I would still go with the SAN!!! Forget the Tige and forget the Maristar.

What does MariStar mean anyway?

any boat whit 2000lbs in it will throw a decent wake.
i heard good things of the tige it only took a while to get to wakeboard speed.some people who ride behind my 97,225vrs maristar also ride behind a the tige.
the tige wake is somewhat bigger, and been called enormous.
the maristar with 1800 lbs and 5 people LT1 engine is also a slow starter, full throttle for about 8-9 sec.
sometimes we take the unloaded 98 mc 205 dd prostar out for some sets,to improve our skills.
to be honest..we are spoiled by those monster wakes....bigger wakes don,t make you a better rider.IMO people flatten out boards more early on the big wakes.
if you want pics and movies on the tige see http://mitglied.lycos.de/skyski/fotos.htm

if you want a movie sample of a 97 maristar see.
www.lieuwma.com.
see preview TFD part 3 and TFD part 5

best thing to do is check them out ride and board behind them...it is your money.
hope i could help a little.
