iphone and fm transmitter?

will my fm transmitter work with my iphone 3g without frying it or otherwise f'ing it up? the transmitter is a kensington digital fm transmitter. it plugs into the dock connector on the bottom or an ipod and charges as well as transmits to fm. it would be great if i could use the pandora app on my iphone in the car.

Is it made for a 3G? Because I thought I read somewhere that the dock connectors are different between the 1st gen and 3G... but I could be wrong.

There is a new connector, you can try plugging it in, but it's not going to charge the phone. The FM transmitter may work however.
