Sounds like you need to put more weight over your toes on landing...

You may be leaning too far back when you land too - it can make you kinda spin out and fop over to the side.

I keep falling when I try to do the blind ollie 180 (not sure if this is what you're talking about). I'm sure this is typical...i can get enough air on my ollie but the weight distribution gets all out of whack and every single time I do a reverse face-plant or a back smack.

I don't have a tramp, and wanted to know if there are any land-based exercises I can do to get this trick down before hitting the water next time.

just try to over rotate the 180 a little. also look at the shoreline, not the water.

Try jumping in the air with a handle tied around something and make the handle pass and use that to pull your self around. You could also try to land blind this might be easier

Make sure that you keep your weight on your back foot too, sounds kinda weird.

make sure you see where the nose of the board is pointing. make sure its pointing toward the boat not to the other wake. i had the same problem too.

When you ollie you want to only bend at the knees to jump. If you bend over at your waiste it can take you a little off-axis when you spin and make it hard to land.

thanks for the help. i decided to get the blind surface 180 down pat first and was thinking about over-rotating. worked beautifully. i can almost do it switch now too. anyway, i landed it the other day, but i was too surprised and missed the handle pass. next time i get out i'll get for sure.
