Getting a new board

Well I was just looking at maybe getting a new board for next season. I was looking at getting the 2008 hyperlite Premier 136 with focus bindings package from wakeside.com. Right now I am riding a 2006 O'brien Oasis 142 with the bindings that came with it not really sure what they are but they feel pretty good on your feet, just a little loose. I am about 6' 145 pounds. I like the way the oasis feels and rides but haven't really ridden anything else. The only other board I have ridden is a hyperlite offshore with sandle bindings and that really isn't a comparison. So is this a good setup and would it even be worth it too buy a new board. Also how would riding a smaller board affect pop and such. I am just starting to get into spinning so riding a larger board didn't really affect me at all for what I could notice. Are there any bad affects of a larger board other than being harder to spin? I know these questions have been asked thousands of times before but it is too specific too find on the forums.

Do you know any other places to look for a board like that because wakeside only has a 132 in that board and I just noticed that the premier package only is left with mini bindings which I will not fit in. The shane does look like a sick board though. Has anyone ever ridden the oasis? How does it compare to some of the newer boards. It seems a little heavy but I don't really know, pop seems pretty good but I haven't been able to ride another board before. I know VT has a wakeboard club so I may try to get out with them in the spring if I can, that should be cool.

I found a site that is selling the 2008 hyperlite premier with focus bindings for 324 and think that evogear would match the price minus 5% for this setup. So that ends up being like 305 for the board and the bindings. Does this sound like a good deal? Also is 136 the right size to go for? Like what are some of the negatives of having a larger board versus a smaller board other than it being heavier? Is it harder to edge, pop, ect? Thanks for all the help.

i always see the best deals on evogear.com, grizzly-sports, and boardersbestbuy, and ebay. evo and grizzly both sell on ebay too.

i like a larger board, more pop, sits higher in the water(ie for ollies, and coming off the wake quiker), and easier landings.

down side is swing weight, but at the level 90% of us are at, i dont think its an issue (i can even tell the difference)

Ok, well I can only really do some grabs and 180's right now. You think I am better off with the 136 or the 141? I ride a 142 now and I have no problem with it at all. I would rather go with the larger board since it floats a lot more and allows more room for the bindings but I also am not sure if I could control a smaller board better in the air/ on the water since it is lighter. Thanks for the help too.

Also do you think the hyperlite focus bindings are any good? Would they be worth it to get the package or just buy the board and use the bindings I have already? The bindings I have now are Blindside Oracle bindings I put a crappy picture below, they don't have very good ankle support at all which is why I kinda thought of just getting better bindings too.

your pretty light, and the shanes are mega wide so they ride like a board 2-3 cm longer. id go with the 136 shane seeing as how your only 145. shane himself rides the 136.
id save some some cash and use your current bindings till your trick list gets bigger. especially if they are comfy, and keep your feet locked in place, as well as not making them go to sleep.

Hey, I am 6'1" and 155 lbs, and I ride an O'brien Player 138, and I dont have any problems controlling the board as far as it being too small goes. I would guess I am at about the same level as you, and I love this board, so I also would suggest something in the 136-139 range.

We have some closeout LF stuff left in stock. Not much from 2008 on CWB and Hyperlite.

I might have a Marius 134 in both the regular board and the platinum and maybe one Absolute left in stock.

All the new 2009 boards are coming in daily.
