Nautique Super Sport 210 or Ski Nautique?

Are any of these good wakeboarding boats?

I`m not sure if a Nautique Super Sport 210 is the same as the Super Sport Nautique that appears in the Chart in this forum?

Nautique is the company. "Super Sport" is the model.

It's the same boat and a great wakeboat for the money, usually.

If you mistyped and meant to say "Ski Nautique" then that's a very different, and not a very good wakeboat.

The only "Ski Nautique" that has ever been a good wakeboat is the 1980s "Ski Nautique 2001."

81 is when they first made the 2001. I really don't know much about Nautiques before that. I've seen some that look like they'd be decent, but have never had any experience with one.

How do you like it?

I'd guess about 1000 pounds at a 60/40 distribution. That would be a good starting place. say 600 pounds by the back seat, 400 under the seat. Should be a quality wake.

i was thinking taking out the back seat and setting a sack there, that way theres weight and seating

A Super Sport is a Super Air without the tower, ballast ect. Same boat, different accessory package.

There are a few people who think this boat is worth wakeboarding behind, I am one of them.... Wink

Whilst I've been a massive advocate of them over here in the UK and always encourage people to bring them back to life. I believe they are awesome boarding boats and an ideal platform for those on smaller lakes with the need for a cheap workhorse.

However, just recently the last few I've worked on have been real dogs - rotting floors, water in the plywood that is sadnwiched in the bow, failing motors etc etc - anyone have any thoughts on much much longer these can actually go on for? Brit Rider, I think you might be right. With wakeboats dropping in value due to the economy and gas prices, boat prices are dropping. I'm sure there are still a lot of quality 2001s out there, but as a breed, the ones that aren't meticulously kept are probably on the downward trend. The 90s Sports and 205s are starting to creep into that price range.

Honestly, the cheapest boat I would probably try to rebuild or put some money into would be an Excel. I just can't deal with a hump in the middle of the boat anymore.

I did know about releasing the model year one before, I just thought they made an 81 model.

Brit Rider, I see where you're coming from, but I disagree on a few points while agreeing with others.

From what I know, you run in salt and I presume the 2001's you've worked on have also seen a lot of salt. That heavily contributes to/speeds up the wood rot in the stringers and floors.

What IS coming to an end, thank God, is the spike in prices we've seen for these boats in the past several years. 13,000 for a Ski Nautique 2001 - total madness and I hope this is over. The boats are still super good at the 5k-8k mark, even for 88-89 models. Wakebrad, brings up a great point that I have written about;

...which is that the Sport Nautiques and ProStar 205s are now entering a price range that is very attractive, and is in all ways a better option than the 2001 dollar for dollar.

I have another 2001 install coming up in a few weeks so maybe that'll break the recent outburst of poor examples I've recently been working on.

They are only getting older and fewer so it's quite natural. Doesn't matter to me though my next SN will be one generation older anyways.

The wakeboarding owners my die off meaning there will be 2001s with tiny holes in the decks, but the classic CC owners will not.

I meant my next boat will be a generation OLDER than the 2001 series hull, early 70s Ski Nautique.

I rode behind a super sport 3 times in august. We had roughly 2500 pounds in it. It's a fantastic wake. Super steep, and plenty large. I would say it's one of my favorite wakes so far. Go for the Super sport.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually, I`m very close to get it, however have some transportation issues (from California to Panama)
I have the $$ ready, agreed with seller, but the problem is that apparently there are no ships that can transport the boat if it is not inside a container. And the boat is wider that the container. Some freight forwarders are trying to find a way to ship it.

Meanwhile I`m looking for boats in FL, as there are Roll in Roll out ships in Miami port, so they can ship any boat without a problem.

If anyone knows a way to solve my problem, it will be greatly appreciated. Too bad we don`t have wakeboard boats in Panama for sale

As a owner of dozens of boats over the years including, ski boats, whalers, cigarette types, and a proud owner of a 87 2001 I must say that I'm truely impressed with the quality of a Correct Craft. The old girl is solid, rattle free and while upholstry and other wear outables, ( hoses, carb, starter etc) have seen updates the basic boat is remainng sound and useable, and for a ski boat has a decent ride. I now have kids and will be upgrading to a roomier Nautique in the 90's vintage but I for one will remain brand loyal.
