I noticed i hold the handle with my hands facing in different directions and i was wondering if this would cause any problems as i progressed. Does any one else do this or is this bad?

you hold it like a baseball bat? 1 up, 1 down? your supposed to hold the hanle both palms down. this makes it easier for handle passes. id say not to worry about it now, but in the future you will

Yeah, I found myself doing that at first, because after skiing, it felt more comfortable.

I am really new to this too, but from what I have read you shouldnt do that on the board. I'm not sure why, prolly what NKCrider was saying about handle passes.

I just kinda mentally told myself not to do it, and I don't even grab it like that now...

I'm trying to break that same habit, it makes it awkward when you start learning to jump.

I had the same habit but after a couple sets i was able to break it, just change your grip everytime you catch yourself.

definatly need to break your habity. it will hinder your progress for sure.
i was a skier all my life, and breaking those old skier habits are very tough, but also critical for progression in WBing

I always ride with both hands up, but when i get tired i often change to one down and one up, both up is btw better for learning handle passes.
