new setup just arrived, have binding placement questions

My new setup arrived today. Finally decided on the 08 LF Trip 138 and 07 LF Shynx bindings. The setup looks better than i ever thought it would. I have just a few binding placement questions.

1. How many of you ride a full wide stance on the outer edge of your boards? What are the advantages of this? Right now I have mine mounted one hole in from the outer edge front and back.

2. What is the advantage of having a ducked stance on both your front and rear foot? I've only been riding for a couple months so right now I have my rear foot at 0 degrees and my front foot slightly ducked toward the nose of the board. I'm still trying to get my fundamentals completely under control.

3. Any stance tips for learning to ride switch? I want to move on riding switch once I get used to the new board and am just wondering the best stance I should have. I'm guessing slight duck front and back may be the answer.

Any other tips are appreciated. I know to ride whatever feels comfortable, but am still curious.

It will help a lot to have them ducked at the same angle, so it's basically the same board switch or regular. I'm not sure about putting them as wide as possible, have yet to see someone do that...

a lot of people ride all the way out.. i do.. shorter riders might want them a little closer together but really just try them all the way out and if it's uncomfortable then move them back in.

having your bindings ducked a little is good because it's the way we normally stand and provides the most balance with. It's also good to have the duck be the same for both bindings. your current duck setup is fine for getting used to carving around in your normal stance but if you start riding switch like that you'll be making it harder on yourself.

now as far as switch riding goes, ride the same way you do normally as far as position goes, just completely opposite. it can be awkward at first, you might find your rear leg (or front foot in your normal stance) wanting to come around and turning the board with it. this is likely because of your lower body wanting to be square with your upper body, which is facing the boat. to help this, let go with your back hand and stand completely square, i.e. shoulders in a line pointing directly to the back of the boat and where the boat has been.

I ride all the way out. If you think about it it makes sense, a wider, lower stance is generally more stable.

Varying the angle of the bindings is more of a snowboard setup. I prefer both of the bindings to be "ducked" at the same angle so the board is neutral whether I'm riding regular or switch.

Awesome, thanks guys! I'm gonna ride like it is for the weekend because i dont see myself getting a lot of riding in with weather and storms moving through.

Another question, I got the 07 LF Sphynx with the proplate system. LF advertises this as being completely hardware free, when in actuality i had to fasten 12 screws. Where is the hardware free portion
