Sounds like a great deal. I have an '03 Outback and I haven't regretted a single thing about the purchase. Get it out on the water and take a good look at how the boat has been treated. If they didn't care about keeping it clean they probably didn't care about changing the oil and stuff. The '03 has a different hull so I can't tell you about the wake, but I know a few people on this board have them and have been very happy with theirs. _________________ No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. |

Awesome deal. Throw some ballast on their, perfect pass, and a blastin stereo system and you have an awesome wakeboard boat. Little less on the quality side, but you don't need all the fancy shitt. If I used all the expensive toilet paper, I'd be broke..... _________________ Ride harder...

People keep saying that Moomba is a lower quality boat and that just is NOT true. The difference is that they don't have some of the fancy touches as standard equipment. They don't have things like netting/pouches under the rear trunk lid. Less vinyl in the boat so there is a bit more exposed fiberglass (ie the walkthrough to the bow seating) The quality of construction is there but the extras are not. _________________ No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. |

| I don't think you can go wrong with that deal! I just bought a '99 Mastercraft Sport Star closed bow with 97 hours and had to give more than that. I really wanted a Moomba because of the price, but I looked for over a year and couldn't find one . I looked at all the specs and other than the fewer bells and whistles you're not giving up any quality! I say if you like it, don't waste any time. Boats in that price range, especially open bow, don't stick around long! |

A couple things to remember about that boat....
The 310 HP is a carb engine. We have a carb on our 2002 mobius and have no problems. The only real difference you notice is at start up. But something you might want to think about.
The 1999 used a different hull than todays mobius. It is more of a low rider. Which might restrict how much weight you can put in it. And thus you might be restricted on how big you can make your wake. That being said, it's not to say it will throw a good wake, just a little limited in how big.
I don't think you can go wrong with moomba, best bang for your buck out there!
Make sure you demo it before you buy! Good luck. _________________ Riders Inc. |

Joe -
I think you need to look at what you want. It sounds like a heck of a deal to me. How serious of a wakeboarder are you? Is it going to bother you not to have ballast tanks under the floor and have fatsacs to move around? No tower - is that an issue?
If these are not an issue - then jump on it before someone else does....especially if 14k is at the top end of what you can pay. But if you do have issues, then for maybe 4-5k more you can maybe address them. |

| Well the Moomba's and especially the outback, are your entry level tournament boat, in construction and quality. They all look the same in boats shows, but wait, 5-10 years. |

Agreed, do some homework. This is the outback not the outback LS or the v-drives which means it's a single sided boat, unlike all of the other moomba's double sided construction for the boats. They might not have issues with the '02s and '03s. But I think the 99 and 00 had some problems, problems with the windshield falling through, lots of hull flex due to single sided gunnels caused this, also this sounds like the same model/year bought of the one where the sides cracked on both sides by the seat due to a ballast system that didn't vent properly.
I'd check out some 90-94 correct craft sport nautiques for that price range. |
