jet-propelled boats

anyone ever wakeboard with a yamaha jet boat? if so how much wake do they produce, how does it differ from prop boats?

Youre not going to like what youre gonna hear... If this is something youve already got, then work with what you have. But if youre thinking about buying a new jetboat, its not going to have the performance that avid wakeboarders tend to desire from their boats. Inboards are tournament quality pull boats. Jetboats are not.

Dont get me wrong, this might be a great family boat if everyone has to compromise and it suits the families needs, but its not gonna be a wake machine by any stretch.

I have a 08 SeaDoo Speedster 150 SC. It has more than enough power to pull but doesn't produce much of a wake at all.

Even if you could get it weighted to produce a decent wake, the fact that you (as the rider behind the boat) can pull the ass end of a jet boat all over the place also counts against it. It has no propeller in the water to sort of "hold it in place." It can make for difficult cuts and edging, as you will literally be able to pull some of the energy out of the line when cutting hard.
