This would so suck to be this guy. Wash and wax the boat every month but never be able to use it because his lake disappeared in three days. Bad for this guy, good for someone in the market. He will credit the buyer $5,000 to get the boat off the lift.

Quote:
I bought this 210 new in March of 2005 for $51,000 from Huston Motors in Lake Wales, Florida to use behind my home on Scott Lake in Lakeland, Florida. In June of 2006, a sink hole opened up in Scott Lake (check Fox News, Lakeland Ledger) and the lake drained completely. Over one billion gallons of water gone in just 3 days. That was the last time I used the boat. Since then, the lake has filled some but not enough to get my boat out.

Quote:

IF YOU BUY THE BOAT, I WILL REDUCE THE PRICE BY $5,000 (five thousand dollars) to compensate you for your time and trouble to get the boat out.

And the people are RUTHLESS on FL!!!!! Apparently the neighbors are upset when the County boat launch lease was not renewed in time. The lake became private so now the neighbors not on the lake think it's "funny" the rich people don't have any water. That's COLD!!

The Story

http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060623/NEWS/606230389/1039

THIS IS RUTHLESS!:

Quote:
The residents who live in the fancy homes rimming the lake-turned-stinky-muddy-marsh asked, what about the water, the views, the wildlife, the home values?

But other Polk County residents, including Pryor, who have been denied access to the state-owned lake for about 25 years seemed to mock: too bad, so sad.

The unexpected emptying of this 291-acre lake just south of downtown Lakeland has started quite a community class war.

"I find it quite humorous that those people on the lake can't use it," said Pryor, a 73-year-old retired electrical engineer and Lakeland resident. "I hope it doesn't recover."

At least it's on a lift..... Wonder if the ground is still soft. If it is, I'd say that boat will be sitting there for a while.

jonyb,

Rent a "Low Ground Pressure" AKA Swamp Buggy, skid steer loader with some long forks. OR: A crane to pick it from the top. OR: Swamp buggy + trailer with beach balloon tires to drag it out. OR: Winch + trailer with beach tires.

OR: Haugy's jeep + trailer

If FL wasn't so far.....

Standard "haves" vs. "have nots" war fare.
1 minute the people not on the lake can use the ramp then next minute only the folks on the lake can put in. I am sure people on the lake calling Cops for outsiders trying to use the ramp has something to do with it.

Nothing new here, if all the houses in Beverly Hills burned down you don't think people across the nation would laugh at them?

marcg,

Your right, I'm just not used to people wishing ill will or thinking bad things are funny just because someone may have more than someone else.

PimpinD2,

Sadly I have....

If you check it out, please PM me. FL is a long way but for the right price, I'll get that boat out of there. Could always use a spare wakeboard boat.

I can think of plenty of ways to get it out, but if that ground is still soft then you can forget it, other than ripping the roof off of that dock and lifting it with a crane, but rent on that thing would make the sale price of the boat more than buying a new one.

Trailer sitting on a marsh/dredging barge. The small 35 feet ones. Pushed out with a front end loader. Drop on the trailer or special bunks. Pull out with front end loader.

I could come up with a ton of ways to get that jem outta there!!!!!

depending on how strong the structure is you could install an over head hoist, pick it up, then slide a trailer underneath it. hard to tell what's around from the photos though.

The reserve is $40k so it'll be $35k and you haul. Not that good of a deal when you factor in the cost of a tandem axle trailer and the hassle of getting it out. He'll probably get to look at it for sometime to come.

Capix,

I asked him. He'd probably go lower just to get it out.

he seems a bit desperate, I am not sure how well than marketing strategy of 5k lower is going to work out.

In my opinion hes better out just doing a buy it know set price.
