Rolling Eyes I personally do not consider something the size of a garden hose thin.

Quote:
COLONOSCOPY
You need it if: You turn 50, to check for growths in your colon (called polyps) that can become cancerous.

How it works: The day before your appointment (usually at a hospital or outpatient endoscopy center), you'll clean out your colon with the aid of liquid laxatives — what many people consider the most unpleasant part of the procedure. The next day, after you're sedated through an IV, the gastroenterologist will ease a thin, flexible tube into your rectum that gently expands your colon with air. The doctor will pass the scope, which is fitted with a camera, through your entire colon, searching for and removing polyps. The procedure is painless. The examination takes 15 to 30 minutes; you can go home after a 45-minute recovery period.

A garden hose? I had no idea it was that big. Shocked

Glad I won't have to go through that for a while.

Nice try but not even remotely close to turning fiddy....... PRICK! Mad Wink

Since my Mom had colon surgery 1 yrs ago and a 5cm mass was removed ( benign thank god) my bros and I need to have the garden hose treatment before 50.
Very important for you peoples to know about your family history and colon CA, since it early treatment is the key to survival.

Dragonlady8,

Don't worry. There's no way its that big. My grampa had colon cancer and I have crohn's so I got scoped last year. Although I left the hospital feeling slightly violated, there was no pain involved at all. They scoped me from both ends! Puppy Eyes I think the only thing that I didn't like was before the drugs knocked me out, the nurses had to put a small plastic piece between my front teeth to allow the camera to pass without it getting bit. Other than that, you will wake up back in your room remembering nothing at all and being loopy-happy off the drugs.

I applaud you for getting it done with your family history. Its not fun, but its the smart thing to do. G-luck and you will do fine. Cool

kavlock99, Oh I'm not worried about it. I thought it was funny how it states it's a "thin tube".

I just don't appreciate watching an MD use the scope on one end ( butt ) and then take it down the other end ( mouth) . Not everyone gets that treatment, but it's just, just...... repulsive.
They do wipe it down with with solution, it's just the thought.

Jt09 - astroglide is too expensive for the hospitals Sad so it's the generic ky.

I must be a bigger a hole than I ever thought! Never noticed how "big or small" the booty cam was. All I know is it wasn't a bad experience at all, outside drinking the magic cool aid.

I hope so too, since you'll be getting much worse treatment that just a garden hose.

Here's a great example: Getting your bunghole sewn shut and crapping out the side of your body.
