It is getting a little out of hand how over scored these chinese gymnasts are getting and how underscored our girls are getting. The girl who just did her uneven bar routine made two mistakes, one in which the announcer said should be a .5 reduction, and she didn't get marked off on anything. The girl also is no older that 12...

No kidding. Did you watch Vault last night? Alicia Sacramone should have gotten bronze last night. The Chinese girl landed on her knees and placed... complete BS.

It is absolutely horrible and the worst part is they are definitely not 16 years old. They won't be 16 years old at the next olympics. It was a shame Sacramone didn't get a medal, the chinese girl should have given her her medal. I would have been embarrassed to accept it. That is like someone winning a double up contest trying a 1080 and falling.

seriously.. it's been an absolute joke. first with Sacramone on the vault, and then just now when they both tie (when Nastia clearly performed better) and she is put second. It takes 30 minutes for them to explain why. Drop the two lowest scores and then the highest??? WTFFFFF

Blindside_137, it honestly just makes the chinese look bad to the rest of the world. They had the opportunity to show the world what their country is about and they are doing that. It is a little ironic that in order for them to win an event, it has to be judged. Wouldn't be surprised if all of their weight lifters roided and obviously won't get caught because the testing is done by chinese

They have won 35 golds so far to our 22, i mean come on...They have great athletes but they are not that much more dominant over us

Just listen to Bella Karolyi's commentary on it. He explains what we should've gotten deductions on and things that we got screwed on.

Regardless of scores, our girls did not perform like they should have. Those judges have seen them all compete on an international level and know exactly what they are capable of.

Shawn Johnson and Alicia Sacramone are the cutest girls on our olympic team and yes it is unfair they are both doing amazing and just getting the shaft. Did you hear about the chinese newspaper that published an article that said that one gymnast was 14... the next day they withdrew it and claimed it was a typo... yea so this sucks for our team.

Aren't the judges all from different countries? How can the Chinese be blamed for that? The only thing the Chinese government can be blamed for is the questionable ages of the gymnasts. If the government is the source of false documentation, nobody will ever be able to prove that those girls are under 16.

They have said in every interview with Bella that the judges are not all from one particular country. They're from multiple different ones.

Scoring for gymnastics has never been concrete or well liked. Small deductions are made based on what the judge thinks. If the gymnast did a hop (ie. one of the gymnasts who was competing for the indvl vault) to address the judges, or to catch her balance. It's truly up to the judges' interpretation. Judging for gymnastics will never be concrete and well-liked by everyone.

Lack of competence or large payoff in the Caymans.

The Chinese Govt has everything to gain by cheating.

The tie break system for the uneven makes no sense at all. The Vault OTOH does.

Jensen, yea man i saw that. The one girl who did get gold had like two errors didnt she and nastia killed it on vault like she always does. She has a start value of 7.7 and killed her routine yet she only walked away with silver. Props to Shawn though for taking the first gold in individual events for the USA on Beam.

Thats pretty cool cause alot of Female Gymnasts only get one chance at these games then grow to old and you know the story.

Aubs, just because they are from different countries doesn't mean they aren't paid off. It makes even more sense that because they are from countries who don't have any one competing that they would be paid off by the Chinese. I can personally live with the uneven bar routine but the vault with the girl falling was blatant cheating. Like I said, that is like someone winning a double up contest falling on a 1080 when the other dude sticks a cab 9.

ilubronix, The drug testing is done by the IOC, not necessarily the Chinese.

All I will say is that I find it very shady that the Chinese made it their point to sweep the two sports with subjective judging (diving and gymnastics). In Diving they really are phenomenal and hands down should have won the Gold(s). My beef is with the gymnastics judging.

Yeah they have won 9 gymnastics golds so far, and two trampoline golds, essentially sweeping gymnastics except for womens all around

Women gold and silver in all-arounds, silver in team comp (which they definitely did NOT deserve first), silver and bronze on floor. Tonight we took home gold and silver on beam. It's not rigged...
