What? They couldn't work one Wakesetter into that vid?

Not even one rider passing through the background?

What, they don't ride in Michegan?

Sweet. Who doesn't love classic, wood cris crafts?

But seriously, was there ever a mainstream music video that was a more obvious place to have some video of someone riding?

Summer, teenagers, drinking, chicks, boats...the natural habitat of the wakeboarder..

maybe our sport isn't as popular as I thought?

cameraboy,
Maybe he's trying to capture what his years were like back in the day. Which wouldn't include wakeboarding ya know?

This song seems to be a hit in alabama just because it mentions "Singing sweet home alabama all summer long". Is kid rock country or rock now? I couldn't tell when i tried out his new cd.

Yea, there's that, but aside from the flashbacks there's lots of scenes that are supposed to be modern day. Chicks and a DJ dancing on....a pontoon boat? A PONTOON BOAT?

Bring out an X80 or something, jeez! You're freakin' kid Rock!

If you create crappy, ripped off music do you think you have the sense to use a good boat in your video? I'm glad he didn't, every awful redneck jackass would then have a reason to talk to you.

Hmmm. Interesting point.

Although, I will admit, I do like the song. But partly because I like the original Warren Zevon song alot. And I like the words. And I like the semi-naked chicks in the video. But all your points are valid.

dlady...two classic beats right there! It's amazing when he put those two together in the same song, how closely the match up with each other.

There is a guy out on our lake in an x-star and I swear he has a CD with only two songs on it. "All Summer Long" and "Lollipop" by Lil Wayne. I likeed both of the songs until he literally played them at least 15 times apiece back to back to back... one day out on the water.

I beg to differ.

My hubby first rode a "skirker, or skurfer" back in 84, 85. We might have been mostly skiers at that point, but there was music, small bikinis and booze on the boat for us back in 87. Of course the music was a boom box, the colors bright and the hair big.

Kip claims he owned an HO wakeboard by 1990.

booby bunny,
But it wasn't as widespread as it is now. I mean hell now you can't be on most lakes without seeing someone wakeboarding.

I like smoken' funny things and sippn whisky out tha bottle.

Add a few strippers and it's all good times...

Your classic reminiscing song - I think about a certain girl from tha day every time I hear it....

Summer of 1989 adds a little extra love to for me....

Summer of 89 was pretty good.

Summer of 87 was the BEST!

We graduated from high school. A couple of parents decided that they would pitch in for a houseboat on shasta for a week. Then my mom would not be out done and paid for a week as well. Our "older more responsible" just married friends were our chaperones, the husband just turned 21. There were 12 or so of us..an old 2001 and a centurion. My bumpa showed up for a night, and left us with over a gallon of vodka.

I had three of the window suits from bodyglove...pink, lime and black.

I think that's the 2nd most overplayed song on the radio today, Coldplay's Viva la Vida is 1st. I didn't like the kid rock song to start with because he stole Warren Zevon's music and made up some crappy words that don't even rhyme to go in the song. Then, to get away from completely ripping off Zevon note-for-note, he through a little Lynyrd Skynyrd in for good measure. Get me some beat mixing software and a mic and I could write a song like that. When a song gets overplayed as much as those two, I develop hate for the "artists" even though I've never met them.

ohsix, technically he didn't "rip off" any music since they were all given credit.

Dragonlady8, I'm sure he did it legally, but there's nothing original about it.

J_DOGG, I'm not saying I'm as talented as kid rock on the whole. I believe he's able to make a hit of a crappy (imo) unoriginal song because of his past work.
