I attempted a raley for the first time this past weekend and I think I did alright. I threw the board out but when I was gonna bring it back under, it nose dived and I got SCREWED. How do I keep from leaning to one side or the other while flying? and when do I know when the bring the board back under me or is right after I throw it back?

I looked under the Trick Tip section and I couldnt find it

The key that will make or break this trick is keeping your eyes on the boat. As soon as you move your head the slightest bit it will turn into either a huge back roll (if you look from where you took off) or a front flip type thing (if you move your head to early to spot the landing. Usually while doing a raley you will push your hips behind you (keep your eyes on the boat) you will have some hang time, then you will feel a second tug from the line if you edged all the way through the wake. When this happens don't pull yourself in but push down on the handle. This creates a hinge like motion which helps you bring the board back down. But really the only thing here is to keep your eyes on the boat.

Not only the boat, but you want to keep your eyes on the tower. K-Fed is right, a friend of mine was trying them a few weeks ago and if he took his eyes off the tower, it was brutal. He was doing them with a skate and looked really good when he remembered to keep his head up.

keep your weight even over both of your feet...stay tall and lean straight back when you are edging....edge all the way through the wake......let hips out n keep eyes on tower.....pull elbows to knees n land......

hope that helps

For me, keeping my eyes on the boat doesn't matter that much. I've actually never done a raley while keeping my eyes on the boat, i always look at the water, but that doesn't meen you shouldn't do what you feel comfortable with. The key to keeping it straight is keeping even weight on both feet like Cwakeboarder19 said. If you put too much weight on your back foot, it will want to go like a backroll, and either you'll crash hard, or stargaze the hell out of it (this is most peoples problems on raleys), and if you put more weight on your front foot, the board automatically goes to 911. All I think about is keeping even weight on both feet while i cut in. I actually have a tendancy to put weight on my back foot on every jump, so i try putting more weight on my front foot then on my back foot and it evens out.
