So, currently in my truck I'm running 2 4'' Infinity Kappas up front, off the head unit, (Kenwood Excelon KDC -x590), and 2 6x9 Pioneers in the rear, off of my Jensen 300W Amp.
I'm looking for some more bass, and I found a Fosgate 12'' Punch Classic w/ a Fosgate 200W single channel amp on Craigslist for fairly cheap.
My question is, what is required to wire a second amp for my sub?
Everything should be the same as the first amp Id imagine, however I'm not sure what to do with the REM, as there is only one REM line out of the head unit and its taken by the first amp. Suggestions?

You can only have one amp for one sub, unless it's a dual voice coil, then they'll have to match.

well first off you need to check to see that your head unit can support a woofer. If it has a sub woofer port then all you need to do is wire the amp up to that. In my car i have the same setup with two amps. ONE amp powers all four speakers and the other amp powers the Two kenwood 12's i have in the trunk. Two wires will run from your deck to the amp the main power cable which you will have to take your deck out and connect to and then run to your amp so it turns on when your car does. The other wire will be that sub woofer AUX looking cord with the red and white plugs that you will plug into the SUB WOOFER output on your deck. They will be two female ends that say SUB WOOFER on the tag holding them together. Run that to the amp and then run the power cable from the car battery to the Bass amp. My car has to wires on the battery, to provide power to both amps. All in all it should work if you just installed it, the only thing that i think may be a problem is if your head unit does not support a woofer and does not have the outlet for it.

Wakeboard K-Fed, its a Kenwood Excelon, yes it can support a woofer
I've done this before, yes I know what a power, ground, and RCA cable is Rolling Eyes
I need to know what to do with the REM line from the 2nd amp

I misunderstood the question, but what the hell is REM? Do you mean RCA or remote turn-on? If it's RCA and there's only 1 output, use a Y-adaptor to split the signal or check to see if any of the amps have a pass-through. If it's remote turn-on, just run a jumper from one amp to the other.

REM = Remote Turn On
Can I just run the REM to the head unit on amp one, and then run a line from REM on amp 1 to REM on amp 2?

X2, but as a word of caution... Some amps REM draw more current than others. When running multiple amps, etc. you need to make sure the HU's REM output will handle the load or it will damage the HU. A way to get around this is to wire in a relay for the REM or put an inline fuse in the REM circuit (no bigger that 0.5 amp). This way the HU will be protected.

Here is a great source for car stereo installation... http://www.bcae1.com/ It will pretty much tell you anything you ever wanted to know.

I didn't read through all this so if your questions has already been answered oh well. For your REM wire just connect it to you other amp where you have its remote wire. This should be prefectly fine because the rem wire uses very VERY little power anyway, it is just telling the amp when to turn on.

core-rider, i doubt hes running anything that requires that being he has a kenwood headunit, sounds pretty basic. Just run the 2nd amps remote to the 1st amp, and the 1st amp to the head unit... and u should be good to go.

Core is right and just becasue it sounds basic doesn't mean it is. The Kenwood head unit if it is low end puts out a certain amount of power on the REM, the Jensen amp will actually pull more than the Punch due to them using a less efficient powersupply. Use the relay, better safe than sorry for a five dollar part. And no one has talked about the main problem of power. More than likely the jensen is wired with 10 guage power and ground wire, the punch needs more than that by itself. If you are gonna run multiple amps run either 4 guage wire or double 8, if you run 4 get a distribution black and run 8 out to each amp.
