Well I want to get a new board, my piece of crap HydroSlide is already falling apart.

Anyway I found a sweet deal on a Byerly Legacy 07 board, I am still a bit of a begginer but can do a fair amount and I am very familiar with the feel of the sport as I snowbarded for 10+ years as well as waterskiing.

Just basically trying to get an idea of if this is a good board or not, I don't want to waste money on a crappy board

Good board indeed. It has a wider tip/tail so you will get a good amount of pop.

And as far as quality goes, Hyperlite is the parent company of Byerly

Alright, so someone probably snatched that up after I listed on here that I found a great deal.

Anyway so my search continues, one other question. I have been looking all over this site and did a search but didn't have a lot of luck.

POP, is 3-stage where its at? Also Gator Boards any good? They have a couple that have a continious 3-stage(hybrid)

I want to fly high, do I want a 3-stage?

Trader137W, It really depends on your boats wake. If you have Malibu VLX for example, I'd go with a hybrid or an aggressive continuous. If your riding behind a stock weighted I/O, I'd say 3 stage.

Thanks much for the help, looks like I need to find a good 3-stage. What kind of difference are we talking about between say a Hybrid and a 3-stage? (as far as height goes)

Also, is it going to be like night and day VS. riding my crappy HydroSlide Tantrum board?

The HydroSlide has the rounded corners on tip and tail with just one center fin in front and back and it is continuous rocker. Here it is

I like how the description says it is the BEST board for learning manuvers

kevoLFwake, where in mn are you located?

Trader137W, I'm not quite sure, so dont take my word for this but, I'm thinking a hybrid would give you more horizontal pop, and a 3 stage h would give you more vertical pop.

trader, yes a good multi fined, broad/square tiped modern board will be a HUGE improvement.
hyperlite and liquid force are probly the two most popular.

kevoLFwake - I know, that is what I currently have that is falling apart after one season

nickl011 - Are you in MN as well, I am south of the cities, Apple Valley area, I normally go to Lake Marion - Small but close

Well I purchased a new board, got a Gator Board 07 140 Millitant says it is a progressive 3-stage but a number of places list it as just a 3 stage, the rocker is listed at 2.8 and its a squared corner board with molded fins and 2 removable center fins. Looks like what I am looking for and didn't cost me an arm and a leg, hopefully it is a good board, I can't see it lasting any shorter than the HydroSlide did.

Hopefully Gator Boards are decent, feel free to let me know if they are crap I could always return it. Very Happy
