| This is really buggin me. How do you keep from going to revert on TS backrolls. I've tried keeping the handle on my hip and letting go with my back hand right off the wake. I get plenty of pop and get around fine but I always land it to revert. I want to just get a regular TS backroll. Any advice on this would be VERY helpful. |

I have exactly the same problem at the moment. If you are coming round to revert you are letting your front hand get in front of you. It is just about getting the front hand right into your back pocket. Which is real easy to say, and real hard to actually do!
I had the same issue on TS FRs, which is why I turned to crows which I find much easier. |

umm few things that may help.
-when initiating the flip look directly back ( the same way you would on a regular backflip on a tramp )
-keep the handle glued to your hip.. if it is there is no way you can spin to revert.
these are the only things i can think of... maybe post a video? _________________ i love lamp. Crikey |

| i learned roll 2 reverts before i learned regular backrolls. just hold on with both hands the whole way through and land it revert. once you get comfortable and can control it better, then do just the backroll. |

Try letting go with your back hand once you get upside down. It worked for me.
Or use your back hand and try to grab indy. |

So is it like the TS FR then, where it is easier to crow than do a straight FR (for me anyway)?
For some reason I had in my head that TS R2Rs were really hard... |

| flounderbout, basically. same thing for me...scarecrow before frontroll. i learned scarecrows different though so they're much easier than "doing a frontroll and spinning 180." i initiate the frontroll and the 180 at the same time, no waiting. |

I am much the same - my crow rotation all comes from loading my back arm all the way into the wake whcih means the rotation comes pretty naturally. I think the reason I need to do it that way is because my aerial awareness isn't all it might be! It probably sends the rotation a little more out the back than I'd like, but I guess that will come with time.
So do you do the same on a TS R2R - load up the back arm on the way into the wake? |

throwing your head back to do the flip will cause you to hit and miss them...also cause you to either over rotate or leave too early....you want to pop off the wake, BRING YOUR KNEES UP to start the flip, then look for the landing....its not a flowing flip like a tantrum where you can throw your head back...its a trick were you pop up, flip, and be done with the rotation 3 or 4 ft up. |

This may be why I'm struggling so much. I've been doing it like a tantrum since that's the only other invert I have consistent. This makes a lot of sense. Noticed a friend of mine who throws them indy, pops, grabs, then spins it super fast and has a lot of time to spot the landing.
Actually gonna head out with him tomorrow and hopefully get this dang thing.
Thanks for all the help. |
