Nothing's wrong with it until it shows up in a wakeboarding magazine.

SH*TBRICK HERE!

I actually had a cool confrontation with some skiiers on Saturday, we went to a cove with a slalom course in the back for some calm water. Next thing we know a MC 190 with some older fellas are pulling up to us, we think 'oh great here we go', but it turns out they saw us doing flippy spinny things and were more interested than anything, they thought it was really cool so we b.s.'d a while about wakeboarding and what its about (two perpetually moving wakes that make a ramp and a transition on the other side, how the board pops off the wake, that kind of stuff). Then of course they said 'well guys we were going to do some slalom runs so if you wouldn't mind..." and we said no problem and actually just chilled out for a while and watched them dog it. It was pretty cool I guess, practically laying down on the water on their cuts, TONS of power and kicking up major tails. It was cool for skiing.

And the reason its in WBM is for marketing, skiiers are boat folks too.

Yes, it's two 'i's. I'm glad you had that experience.

As most here know, I'ma skier/foiler/boarder. I don't care that we're doing as long as it's on the water. Most of my skiier friends get along with all the other sports too. As long as folks share the water responsibly, there aren't really many problems.

I looked in the mag too, and the Malibu Open was the only one I saw too. And it at least had a pic of a wb'er in it along with a sloalom skiier and a jumper. I found nothing else ski related at all.

I didnt seen a lot of waterskiers when I went to the lake recently. There were mostly wakeboarders and then some people just cruising around messing up the wake for everyone.

What do ya'll always rag on people who are driving a boat on the lake without someone wakeboarding behind it?!! I mean, that's what the water is there for: for people to ride boats on. Rolling Eyes

Mavis Dean, because they driving around the lake just to drive around the lake and screwing up the wake. Not only that, but it seems the only purpose that they're there is to screw up the wake. The people arent partying or fishing, they just drive in circles!!!

How far do you live from the lake. For me trips to the lake are few and far between compared to some of the people on here, so I try to get as much out of it as I can when I go.

Jim M,

sounds like u had a decent experience and i'm glad you admire the sport.

sorry you people but i have also done a bit of skiing before, nothing to flash but i did find it pretty damn fun. throwing down awesome turns at decent speed on the verge of being out of control is a bloody good feeling. and holy crap, it takes about 3 times as much energy as wakeboarding does, no shite.

but wakeboarding still rules, dont get me wrong. wakeboarding always will.
peace out
nick
