so yesterday i went out and wanted to try something new i can throw huge tantrums and can do some 3's so i decided to put it together i watched higher education on whirlybirds and it said that i had to make sure i throw my bicep to my face but every time i tried it was like a huge stiffy rewind tantrum. i can do them on the tramp but as soon as i hit the water it just doesnt want to rotate around how can i get that extra push to intiate the full 360 _________________ I represent NOR*CAL! |

I had the same problem and sometimes when I'm lazy the same thing still happens. Basically the reason you get pulled back to tantrum is because you didn't fully commit.
Once you pop off the wake toss your arm over, just like on the tramp, but really focus on holding it in that position. Hold it longer than you think.
The first time I rotated a real whirly I almost pee'd myself because it felt like I wasn't going to make it all the way around, but you will... hopefully. |

pop off the wake, allowing your shoulders (in the back of course) to square off towards the boat a little more than normal to get ready for the backside spin. get yourself to the top of the wake this way, pop, hesitate, THEN, just like on the tramp, throw your arm around and let your hips follow. it's better to get the air first rather than throw the trick low and make it sloppy. after you initiate the motion, just keep your arm up and let it come around.
i haven't tried them this year, but i landed a few (proudly, i landed all but 1 i tried in comps last fall! ). the one i missed was driver error when he slowed down right as i hit the wake a the end of my run. i had it too |

Yeah, I think the problems I was having last year were from throwing my arm too early. Too much line tension that would always catch me up and hold me at tantrum to blind. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

| Wakeboard K-Fed, yes...you have to hesitate just for a split second. you don't want to throw it early because you WILL get the line tension like Wakebrad mentioned. if you hesitate for that little moment, it will help loosen up a bit and make it easier for it to come around. |

Wakeboard K-Fed, haha i went out and tried about 3 today. the first two were decent, the third one was terrible. i went up, got the rotation started, and then the rotation just stopped about 1/2 of the way through. needless to say, it hurt quite a bit and gave me a decent headache. i took a couple sets later in the day though.
on a good note, i got a few hookups from Mastercraft down here at Norris from wings/corona night at Sequoyah Marina. i think i'm going to ride behind the vice-president of mastercraft's x-35 tomorrow (hopefully). |

i'll get a picture of the boat as well. it has a SICK vinyl wrap around the entire boat. another guy that is a rep for mastercraft was also included in their little group and he had a really nice wrap around his x-2. very nice guys as well...very cool to hear about some of the stuff going on.
AND (for those of you lucky enough to read this) there will be a larger version of the x-35 coming out in the next year or two. it's going to be a 25 footer with a picklefork (possibly x-50?).
and Wakeboard K-Fed, i know where you stand on the small wake thing...we used to have a prostar 205, then an x-7. both had very small wakes, but still very great boats. |
